No, I didn’t start medication, but I was very close when I experienced that flare (or relapse — who knows) a few years ago. I was barely able to walk or stand on my left leg. It lasted almost 4 weeks, and it was the scariest thing to experience just 3 years after my diagnosis. I didn’t take painkillers, and I’m not sure if they would have made a difference. What I did was increased my Vitamin D supplement and rested. I had faith that this was just temporary and that I needed to take better care of myself. I did gentle exercises at home when I could, I meditated, I took Epsom salt baths, and I went to bed every night praying that the next day I would be able to walk again. That experience taught me that we are stronger than we think and that everything — all the pain and suffering — is just temporary… And that our bodies are incredible and capable of healing. 🧡 #mshope #msawareness #ms #multiplesclerosissupport #multiplesclerosis

3 things people with MS will never forget 💭 1️⃣ The day they heard the words “You have Multiple Sclerosis.” That moment changed everything — life, priorities, and perspective. 2️⃣ The first relapse or symptom flare-up that reminded them how unpredictable MS can be. 3️⃣ The person (or few) who truly stood by — through fatigue, mood changes, pain, and fear — without judgment, only love. 💜 Because MS doesn’t just affect the body — it touches the soul. And people with MS remember who showed up when life tested them the most. 💫 #MultipleSclerosisAwareness #MSWarrior #ChronicIllness #AutoimmuneAwareness #InvisibleIllness #MSCommunity #MentalHealthMatters #MSJourney #chronicillnessawareness #multiplesclerosis #MSWarrior #autoimmunedisease #spoonie

Have YOU felt any of these before? Leave a comment sharing your experience + let’s support one another 🫂 I’ve felt every single symptom mentioned 🥴 sometimes all at once! Currently I’m dealing with buzzing in my fingertips, but I believe that’s related to ✨pushing✨ myself to declutter so we can start renovating our condo! I’m learning to not over do it to the point of exasperation 🥲 A few MS symptoms include: ⚡️ Fatigue ⚡️ Constant buzzing in extremities ⚡️ Muscle pain + cramps ⚡️ Difficulty walking or balancing ⚡️ Blurred, doubled, or even loss of vision And that’s just 5 from a very VERY long list of symptoms 😅🤌🏼 It’s important to note that MS is different for everyone so if you don’t have these symptoms that doesn’t mean you will get them 🫶🏼 in addition, many MS symptoms overlap with other autoimmune conditions so it’s also possible that you may experience these and not have MS! Wild isn’t it?! March is MS Awareness month, so please share to spread awareness! It’s been 8 years since my legs no longer worked for me. I was numb from the waist down. I relied on a wheelchair, a walker, and a cane to get me around. I was at the lowest point of my life, physically, mentally, and spiritually but I knew that I needed to be strong for my kids. It’s been 8 years that I have worked hard to get to a better spot. Consistent exercise, diet change, mindfulness, therapy, meditation, breathwork, cutting out toxic people, gratitude, no alcohol, supplements, and more! The journey has been a difficult one with a lot of struggles, isolation, depression, and more. It’s been really hard, but I am damn grateful to be where I am at today!!! I am grateful to be able to hike and run and use my legs like they were intended, and I will continue to fight for myself. I am grateful I held onto that hope! MS triggers aren’t just for people with relapsing MS — ANYONE with Multiple Sclerosis can have their symptoms triggered by something ⚡️. Before I go further, let’s clear something up — triggers are not the same as a true relapse/flare 🙅🏼♀️. Triggers are anything that causes symptoms to temporarily worsen. Common examples are 👇🏼: 🌞 heat 🥶 cold 😷 sickness 🤯 stress ...and so many more! To learn the 10 most common triggers that may be causing your symptoms to temporarily worsen + strategies to prevent it from happening (or at the very least reduce the likelihood)… listen to The MSing Link podcast episode 138 where I take a deep dive 🏊🏻♀️ into this topic! Looking back, I can see it now. The signs were there long before my diagnosis I just didn’t know what they meant. Here are a few things I brushed off: 1️⃣ Fatigue that felt like cement in my bones. 2️⃣ Numbness and tingling that came and went. 3️⃣ Vision changes I blamed on “tired eyes.” 4️⃣ Random dizziness that made me feel “off.” 5️⃣ The quiet thought that something deeper was wrong. I share this because so many of us minimize our symptoms until our bodies scream loud enough that we finally have to listen. If you’re in that space right now… please don’t ignore what your body’s trying to tell you. 🖤 #LifeWithMS #MSAwareness #ChronicIllnessCommunity #MultipleSclerosis #InvisibleIllness #AutoimmuneStrong #WomenWithMS #ChronicFatigue #HealingJourney #ChronicFitJourney

Multiple Sclerosis looks a little different for me every day. Sometimes I feel good and I get little glimpses of what my life was like before. But there’s many days when it’s hard to find the energy to do anything other than exist. Most people can never understand what it’s like to live in a body that doesn’t always cooperate. MS is invisible in so many ways, and that makes it very difficult to verbalize what I’m feeling. Just because I “look fine” doesn’t mean I feel fine. I am trying my best to honor where I’m at, but some days are more challenging than others. If you’re living with MS like me, check out @msnewstoday for community and support.
