I hope yall are off today! Today is all about resting up for National Black Woman Day of Rest. Its observed on Harriet Tubman’s birthday. Harriet Tubman not only freed HERSELF, but led so many others to freedom, and we’re forever grateful for her. As Black women, we deserve to rest, recharge, and just be. It’s not a luxury, it’s necessary. We’re giving ourselves permission to pause because Black Women shoulder so much that is not always recognized or shared with others. Did you take the day off to rest? #NationalBlackWomanDayOfRest #RespectMyHair 💕 #RestAndRecharge #HarriestTubman #Blackwomen

One of my favorite poems I have ever written. A reminder to myself and a prayer for someone else. Black Woman, even God rested on the 7th day. 📝Poem written by Nytesia Ross 🎥Film/Direction/Edit by @jasminguinn #poetry #rest #blackhistory #blackwoman

Well , are you resting? Also, Rest in Power to Harriet Tubman, thank you for your contribution to my freedom. I’m always eager to take a rest and one things for certain there are a lot of unnecessary works that black women need to relieve themselves from. Not just today but forever more. Rest is a form of resistance and also my super power. I refuse to work myself to death. Life is for living life with abundance. What’s the BEST that can happen?! 🦚

🤎💛🩷MONDAY, MARCH 10TH • The National Day of Rest for Black Women on March 10 acknowledges that Black women — who are often upholding the strong black woman syndrome— need to focus on their own well-being and prioritize rest. 💆🏾♀️Plan a day OFF at @theanyahouse Burnout and Stress Black women are increasingly experiencing burnout, and it's taking a toll on our health. According to data from the study of Women's Health Across the Nation, "Black women are 7.5 years biologically 'older' than white women [and] perceived stress and poverty account for 27% of this difference." Black women are prone to over-function and prematurely force recovery when sick or injured. This stems back hundreds of generations. We often hear Black women say, "Ain't nobody got time for that." We laugh lightly at this, but we should pause and ask ourselves why. 🤷🏽♀️What do we mean? Let's talk about it..."No time to eat healthy, to breathe, to be happy, to ask for help, to stop, to exercise, to live well, to enjoy life, to say no, to make a life or career change, to process grief, to fresh our minds, etc?" ❤️🩹We need to change this narrative and do better ladies. This is my "WHY" behind opening @theanyahouse . It's time to acknowledge rest as productivity to let down the superwoman cape. Be intentional about your health, happiness, and well-being by taking a day off specifically for rest. 💅💁🏾♀️🛌Make this a LONG WEEKEND ladies! I hope this post motivates you to do something this month that supports your healing and wellness journey 🌸💕💆🏾♀️ 💖💖💖💖Special shout out to all of you amazing women who have been taking time for rest at @theanyahouse and being intentional about your wellness! I can't thank you enough for your support and helping to keep these doors open!!! #stressmanagement #burnout #wellnessboston #faithandmentalhealth #selfcareforblackwomen #selfcareforblackmoms #tauntonma #selfloveforblackwomen #retreatsforwomen #retreatcentermassachusetts #wellnessforblackwomen #blackownedbusiness #bostonmoms #melaninmassmoms #healingjourney #loveyourself #blackmentalhealthawareness

Today is the National Day of Rest for Black Women. Black women carry so much - our families, our communities, and our movements. The world expects us to keep going without pause. Today we reject that. Rest is not laziness. Rest is not weakness. Rest is resistance. Black women deserve peace. Black women deserve stillness. Black women deserve time to breathe. If you can today, slow down. Log off. Take a nap. Protect your energy. Our communities need Black women alive, whole, and well. #NationalDayOfRestForBlackWomen #RestIsResistance #BlackWomenDeserveRest #BlackMothersInPower

Today, we acknowledge the National Day of Rest for Black Women in honor of Harriet Tubman, whose legacy of bravery and activism has influenced Black women throughout history. Today, we call on Black women everywhere to pause for a moment and mindfully reflect on rest as its own power and act of resistance. Rest is not a reward—it’s a human right. “I Will Give You Rest.” Matthew 11:28–30 Rest is not escape. Rest is surrender. Rest is trust. Rest is laying down what we were never meant to carry alone. And today… we laid it down. 🤍 #WomensWorldDayOfPrayer #WomenInPrayer #IWillGiveYouRest #UnitedInPrayer #Rest Dominique Adonis @Ursela @Sydney

Most women don't sleep late because they want to. They sleep late because it’s the only time the world finally stops asking things from them. Work. Family. Responsibilities. Messages. Deadlines. Somewhere in between… their own sleep routine disappears. This Women's Day, remember: Rest is not laziness. Sleep is not a luxury. Sleep is recovery. Strong women deserve deep rest too.
