Sewing a zipper into a pouch perfectly has always been a bit of a struggle for me. I’m a big perfectionist, and I hate when something isn’t just right. I’ve tried many different methods, but this one works best for me. It gives the neatest results and the cleanest look. Here are some key tips: • Leave about 1/2 inch for seam allowances on the sides, even if you’re sewing only 1/4 inch. • Don’t make the zipper tabs too big — I make them less than 1/2 inch in the final result. • I measure the width of the zipper (that’s the width of the tab too), and use about 2 inches in length. It’s easier to see everything in the video. I’m really happy with how this little bag turned out, and I hope the video clearly shows the process. here is the long awaited final part 3! the key here is matching up the seams just right, and making the exterior sides touch when sewing (not the interior!). it took me a long time to be able to sew it properly without making the zipper part crooked so practice, practice, practice! now you can see why folding the zipper 90 degrees down was important so it has a nice clean finish at the end ☺️ I also slightly trimmed off the excess zipper ends. I don’t cut it flush because then the zipper can unwind, so I leave about 1cm length of tail. don’t forget to watch part 1 & 2!
