I want to gently challenge the word dark, especially when it comes to paint colours. Dark feels heavy. It feels risky. And it feels like something that might go wrong. But I’m here to tell you that if you replace that word with Rich, it starts to feel a whole lot different. When we say dark, we focus on what we’re losing – light. When we say Rich, we focus on what we’re gaining-atmosphere. So I’ll leave you with two questions. 1. Where could you add more atmosphere into your home? 2. Truth bomb 💣 It is because light changes how colour reads. Quick fix ⬇️ Always test colour in your actual space. • Paint a large sample, not a tiny swatch • Check it morning, afternoon, and night • Look at it against your flooring and joinery Colour is affected more by light and surroundings than the paint itself. I never choose colour without testing it in the space. 📍Save this before you commit.
