You’re not BAD at colour. You’re not colour blind either. You just don’t have the confidence yet! No one is born knowing how to layer ochre with olive and make it look intentional. The people who look effortless have usually just practised looking. Here’s the trick. Stop staring at paint charts and go outside. Nature is out there mixing the most outrageous combinations daily and somehow pulling it off. Sludgy greens with dusty pinks. Moody skies against sharp white light. Burnt earth next to soft blue water. It all works. There’s your blueprint. Borrow from it shamelessly. And if you’d rather not experiment on your own walls, that’s where we come in. We’ll build your colour confidence without the drama.

You’ve heard of the trends, but what do they actually mean? Our Creative Director Marianne breaks down the difference between colour drenching, double drenching and colour capping. 🎨 Colour drenching: painting every element of a room in one single shade for a bold, immersive finish. 🖌️ Double drenching: using two colours from the same family, equally rich in tone, and wrapping the entire space in both for added depth. 🧡 Colour capping: applying the same colour to the walls, then choosing a deeper tone on the ceiling to ‘cap’ the space and create a warm, cocooning feel. Which trend will you be trying this year? 👇 #PressedPetal #CoralCharm #CopperBlush

The colour everyone always asks about and it’s my favourite to recommend ❤️ Just look at how it changes throughout the year! It’s such a gorgeous, deep, earthy browny red. I cannot get enough. And it seems you lot can’t either! It’s perfect for colour drenching, small spaces or as a pop of colour against neutral walls. I want to gently challenge the word dark, especially when it comes to paint colours. Dark feels heavy. It feels risky. And it feels like something that might go wrong. But I’m here to tell you that if you replace that word with Rich, it starts to feel a whole lot different. When we say dark, we focus on what we’re losing – light. When we say Rich, we focus on what we’re gaining-atmosphere. So I’ll leave you with two questions. 1. Where could you add more atmosphere into your home? 2. What colour have you ruled out because you thought it was too dark? Comment below and let’s get talking 👇

Truth bomb 💣 It is because light changes how colour reads. Quick fix ⬇️ Always test colour in your actual space. • Paint a large sample, not a tiny swatch • Check it morning, afternoon, and night • Look at it against your flooring and joinery Colour is affected more by light and surroundings than the paint itself. I never choose colour without testing it in the space. 📍Save this before you commit.

Every one of these palettes has a push-pull moment that makes it interesting without being overwhelming ❤️🔥 • Warm + cool together keeps a space interesting ~ warmth brings depth, cooler tones stop it feeling heavy • Contrast > matching ~ the tension is what gives the room character • Mid-tones over brights makes bold colour feel lived-in, not loud • Earthy bases (clay, moss, ochre) let stronger colours sit comfortably without fighting The result? Spaces that feel confident, layered and a little bit addictive ❤️🔥 First pic shown is @hope_and_the_house 😍
