Why colour drenching my bedroom divided the internet 😅. And some of the comments were 'interesting' to say the very least! Who would have thought that deciding to paint my ceiling the same colour as my walls would divide people's opinions so much! Although the majority LOVED this immersive look, others were not so keen... Some called the colour "beige". Definitely not beige. F&B Setting Plaster is a beautiful muted plaster pink, which changes with the light. I stand firm on this one 😅. Some claimed I'd ruined the cornicing by painting it. I LOVE it; it's highlighted the details so much more than a traditional white ever did. I'm also standing firm on this one too! Some called this "lazy" decorating because I chose to do it all the same colour. Trust me, if you've ever spent six hours painting a ceiling, "lazy" is not a word that comes to mind 💪🥵. OK so hands up who's done this! You get your lovely paint chart out and buy the sample pot only to decide it's not quite right so you just take the plunge and buy the paint in another shade without testing again!? I sampled the pink ground by @farrowandball but purchased the setting plaster colour! Pink! F&B Setting Plaster I am so in love with this room, the colour has completely transformed it. Now on the look out for new window decor! Tip - if you choose this colour it goes on so well this took a lot less paint than I thought as it only took one coat on nearly all of it! I used estate emulsion on a light base. A lot of months & money spent searching for the perfect “warm off white that isn’t too yellow” paint colour for my kitchen. Painting my kitchen twice in two different off white colours & neither of them being quite right. Having a visceral feeling that my kitchen NEEDED to be pink. Colour drenching my vintage bedroom - Part Two ✨️. This is hands down one of the best decorating decisions I've ever made. I put this off for months because I couldn't bear the thought of painting the ceiling, and it is definitely an unpleasant job 😵‍💫😅, but so very worth it. The bedroom now feels even cosier, more immersive, and the result is much more beautiful and impactful than I expected. Without doubt, my most-asked question on here is about the wall colour in our living room. (I’ve tagged at the end of the caption, in case you want to skip to the details…) And yes, I do believe that pink can be a neutral. Not too pastel, not too bold, definitely not saccharine, it’s pink but pared back - a mellow, muted peach in some lights, an almost sandy beige in others. Like any good neutral, it’s super-versatile, pairing just as well with monochrome as it does with pops of colour. I love the contrast against our tan sofa just as much as Iove it as a backdrop for all our plants. The lesser-seen teal sofa in the back part of this room works just as beautifully as the green armchair. Can you tell I’m as obsessed now as when we painted it during lockdown?!
