After YEARS of saying I’d eventually do one…I did it! Here was my experience doing my first @parkrunuk as a slower runner. As someone who didn’t grow up sporty (I actually tried to avoid anything of the sort xx), I am still intimidated by running with other people and so I honestly didn’t really know what to expect going into my first parkrun. I asked you guys what you thought of it and OMG I don’t think I’ve ever had such a positive response about anything before 😂 Now I’ve done it, I kinda get the hype (although I would love it to be at 10am 😴). Everyone is truly there just to do their own thing, and I didn’t feel any judgement from anyone on my slower pace. There was no pressure to run the whole thing, or run at all with the last person finishing in over an hour. Little tip if you are a @runna user - you can store your parkrun barcode in the app and it’s super easy to set up! I’m wearing full @brooksrunninguk and am currently loving their Ghost Trail Trainers which were PERFECT for this course! #ad #parkrun #running #slowrunner

🌳 SADRC Scunthorpe parkrun Takeover! 🔵⚪️⚫️ Another fantastic morning at Scunthorpe parkrun this weekend as our club members once again took over pacing and volunteering duties! From 20 minutes right through to 40 minutes, our pacers helped push runners to their goals — with an incredible 81 runners achieving new PBs out on the course! 🏃‍♂️💨 A huge thank you as always to the brilliant SADRC members who stepped up to fill the vital volunteer roles, helping the event run smoothly from start to finish. And of course, a big shoutout to all the amazing parkrun volunteers who give up their time each week to make these events possible 👏 It was brilliant to see so many smiling faces, strong finishes, and personal victories across the field.
