🚨STOP🚨buying Miracle Gro if you want a healthy garden this spring👇 Comment SOIL and follow me to learn everything you need to know about garden soil. Listen, if you want bigger harvests and a healthier garden this year, you’ve got to focus on the soil. It’s the #1 thing I recommend my clients master before planting a single seed. I typically mix my own soil with 3/8 topsoil, 3/8 compost and 1/4 parts sand, but if I had to buy pre-bagged soil, here’s what I would look for: ❌no miracle gro or artificial fertilizer ❌no peat moss products ❌little/no vermiculite or perlite If you want to learn all my soil tips amd master your garden this year, you’ve got to join my Soil School. My favorite soil mix for my tropical houseplants 🙌🏼🌿 These are the exact products that I use for my soil mix!! ↓ ↓ ↓ • FoxFarm Ocean Forest Potting Soil (linked on amazon!) • MiracleGro Perlite (I prefer Sta-Green which is also found @ Lowe’s!) • Gubler Orchids Fine Grade Orchid Grow Mix (found @ Lowe’s!) You can add so much more to your mixes but these 3-4 base ingredients are *chef’s kiss* for any basic soil mix and my tropical plants all grow so well in it! Comment ‘soil’ and I can send you the link to my fav soil!! . . . . . #plants #plantsmakemedance #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantsofinstagram #plantsplantsplants #houseplants #houseplant #houseplantclub #houseplantsofinstagram #houseplantplantclub #houseplantcommunity #houseplantlove #houseplanttips #planttips #indoorplants #urbanjungle #urbanjunglebloggers #urbanjunglehome

Here’s how we mix our succulent soil here at the greenhouse! We incorporate a blend of mostly inorganic elements to ensure optimal drainage which is especially crucial during our hot and humid east coast summers. Your local environment matters too, so adjust as needed. Here’s what we use and why! ~20% Coco Peat/Peat: Lightweight and breathable, low in nutrients ~25% Perlite: Boosts air permeability and drainage ~25% Calcined Clay: Enhances drainage, slightly acidic ~20% Zeolite: Improves drainage, absorbs impurities ~10% Volcanic Rock: Enhances air permeability, adds trace elements Thanks for watching!! 🪴🌵 #succulents #plants #smallbusiness #annapolis #echeveria

Comment SOIL for links to ingredients! I’ve been using this mix for over a decade and it hasn’t failed me! It’s the perfect amount of moisture retention and airflow to roots. Can be used for indoor AND outdoor plants! Mix up a big batch & be ready for spring repots 🙌🏻 It’s truly the best houseplant soil mix I’ve found. The potting soil I use is high quality & nutrient dense, the bark is a great size and the perlite is dust-free! Do you have repotting plans? Mix up a batch of this first! Your houseplants will thank you 🫶🏻

Trying to build the “perfect” soil mix? You don’t need a complicated recipe 🌿 Every mix comes down to 3 things: • Hold moisture • Create airflow • Maintain structure over time That’s it. My go-to mix: 2 parts potting soil 1 part perlite 1 part orchid bark Simple, predictable, and works for most houseplants. Nutrients are a separate piece—you can control that with your soil or fertilizer. Save this before your next repot 👇

I ain’t arguing with grocery prices no more… I replaced them. This the exact soil mix I use to grow REAL food… not struggle plants. My great grandparents lived off the land - I’m just doing it on a patio with buckets. You don’t need land. You need the right soil. If your plants struggling… it ain’t you. It’s your soil. 🌱 #GrowYourOwnFood #PatioGarden #ContainerGardening #bucketgarden

Garden confessions: I don’t buy potting mix. Three years ago I switched to bulk compost — my favorite is the veggie mix from @soil3organiccompost and this giant perlite bag from Amazon. I use it for seed starting, potting up, grow bags, potted trees and containers. There’s no real recipe that I follow. I just mix in enough perlite until it “looks” like potting mix to me. If you insisted.. I’d say something like 3 scoops of soil for every 1 scoop of perlite. It’s worked out well for me and I haven’t looked back! Do you mix your own potting mix? What’s your “recipe”? #gardening #containergarden #pottingmix #soil #compost #gardentips #raisedgarden

SAVE MONEY AND MAKE YOUR OWN SOIL!!! 🪴🤲🏾 ——- It’s really just that easy! I always tell folks to feel free adding additional items like worm castings, charcoal, and leca! In a time crunch and rather buy soil that’s got it together? I HIGHLY recommend @solsoils and @rosysoil Soil 🤍 I have also heard great things about Fox Farm but have never used them before #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantmom #plantlover #plantcollection #creatorsearchinsights #soil #plantrepotting

Mixing in these 3 things will make the perfect soil mix ratio. Your plants will be so happy!🪴 All you need are equal parts of: Perlite Orchid bark blend Bag of potting mix A tub to store it in Easy to make! The bagged potting mix retains water and nutrients while the perlite and orchid bark help with drainage. This will help prevent root rot and/or fungus gnats❌ And there you have it- start collecting all the plants 😉🪴 #houseplants#indoorjungle#urbanjunglebloggers#houseplantlove#myhomesense#interiorinspiration#planthack#plantmix Soil mix, indoor plants, plant tips
