💢 THE “Y” DRILL 💢 🧠💡Focus: agility, reaction time, working under pressure ⚠️ Setup: 4 cones set up in the shape of a Y — Cones help gives visuals of angles and directions that they need to take to the ball — Note: before each play, make sure the player is utilizing a prep step/proper starting position & after they throw the player must return to the middle cone 🤍 Beginner: (use cones) tell them ahead of time what pattern they are going to follow in the Y 💛 Intermediate: (use cones) do not give them a pattern ahead of time, use unpredictably to challenge them 🧡 Advanced: (no cones - still using Y format) challenge them with deeper or longer angles, different speeds of the ball, still utilizing unpredictability, add a goal to hit for number of plays they field clean in a row ❤️‍🔥 Pro: (no cones - still using Y format) use a timer as a stress test, put them under pressure, see how many they can field CLEANLY in 10 or 20 seconds, keep track of progress #softball #baseball #coachbsoftball #coachb #fielding #drills #youth #youthsports #sports #play

More Here 👇🏽 This pre-pitch motion can be referred to as: 🦶🏽creep-step 🦶🏽prep-step 🦶🏽split-step This is so easy to do, but WHY do we do this?
