Are moths the cutest insects? Can you name one cuter? Certainly this genus of moth called Procinnus is up there, along with Silk moths and their cousins. I love moths and in Costa Rica I’m in moth heaven. That’s because there are around 12,000 different species here! Yes, 12,000. That’s more than all the species in the entire United States packed into a country 0.5% the size. I found this cutie while black lighting in my backyard at @osaconservation. Of course we have an insane amount moths here on the Osa Peninsula. It’s all part of a bigger moth project I’m working on that I can’t wait to share.
