If you’re curious how long it took to do my PPL training, here’s my timeline! I’m enrolled in a Part 141 course (which is part of my visa requirements). November 21st, 2023: First flight. February 22nd: Phase Check 1, ground April 17th: Phase Check 1, flight April 30th: Phase Check 2, ground and flight May 7th: First solo flight. July 1st: Phase Check 3, ground July 11th: Phase Check 3, flight August 12th: Final Phase Check, ground August 30th: Final Phase Check, flight September 19th: Checkride passed! 🎉 Transparency is important and I hope this has helped anyone that’s curious! Every journey is different and everyone will face challenges. Don’t lose sight of your goals🩷 There were some factors that ultimately ended up extending my timeline more than I anticipated. The main reasons for the delays: ⮕FAA audit of the 141 program, which grounded me while issues were fixed. ⮕Grounding due to discourse on paying installments caused by delays in my training as mentioned above ⮕Changing instructors. ⮕Long wait times for phase checks to be scheduled #aviation #flighttraining #studentpilot #femalepilot

✅ Over a 91 day sprint of training full time, I was able to earn seven FAA pilot certificates and I spent just under $50,000. When I started, I had just 100 hours. ✅ At the end of the 91 day sprint, I began working as an independent flight instructor. I used a combination of networking, craigslist ads, and social media to attract all of my students and within 30 days I was booked solid. ✅ Rather than being an employee of a Flight School earning just $20 per hour, I was earning $75 per hour and over the next 12 months I was able to accumulate 1500 hours and I earned a significant income along the way. ✅ After that, I was hired by the largest regional airline in the United States as a First Officer. ✅ From start to finish, it took me 23 months to go from a Private Pilot with 100 hours to a First Officer. ✅ On my YouTube channel, I published the entire journey in a playlist called How To Become a Professional Pilot.

For those of you who are curious about my timeline getting my Private Pilot License.... October 2023: Took a discovery flight and decided I wanted to pursue a career in Aviation. (This was not the only flight I went on before deciding) November 2023: Signed up for Flight School. Class date was March 25th, 2024. March 2024: Started flight school the last week of March at ATP flight school. April: Continued training flying 4-6 times per week and studying when not flying. Had my first solo on April 30th! May: Did more solo flights including my solo XC flights. Also worked on getting ready for the Checkride. Got endorsed to take my Private Checkride on the 18th of May just after 8 weeks of training. How long does it take to get your Private Pilot License? It depends on how often you fly—not just how many hours. ⏱️ The FAA minimum is 40 hours, but most people finish between 60–80. 🗓️ Flying 2–3 times a week? You could be done in 3–6 months. 🛑 Flying once every couple weeks? It could stretch to a year or more. !!! Consistency is key !!! Up, up, and away in the Cessna Citation V jet! ✈️ I got some single-pilot flying in recently (no crew). Our airport is a very busy GA (general aviation) airport which means more traffic in the air. So pilots have to be extra vigilant to stay away from other aircraft, especially on takeoff. This was a busy day with lots of low traffic around when I took off. But thanks to the TCAS system, avionics, and scanning outside, any sort of issue was easily avoided. I’m a grateful girl to get to fly this beautiful aircraft ✈️
