Comparing Push Press and Push Jerk In today’s video, we’re breaking down the key differences between the Push Press and Push Jerk, two essential movements for improving your shoulder-to-overhead technique. 1️⃣ Push Press 🟠 Drive + 🟢 Press This movement begins with a dip and drive from the legs, followed by pressing the barbell overhead using your arms. It’s a powerful combination of leg and arm strength to lift heavier weights. 2️⃣ Push Jerk 🟣 Drive + 🔵 Press + 🟡 Catch The Push Jerk incorporates an additional dip to catch the weight after the press, allowing you to lift even more due to the extra leg assistance. Save this video for reference, and share it with a friend to help them understand the differences between these two powerful lifts! . . . #CrossFit #Weightlifting #PushPress #PushJerk

🏋️♀️ PUSH PRESS VS. 💪🏽 #PushJerk #PushPress #Weightlifting #Halterofilia #HalterofiliaFemenina #Haltero #AmoADarle

🚨 Push Press Dip Tip 🚨 Notice the difference? When your knees drive OUT like a spring during the dip, you create a stronger, more stable base for powerful leg drive ⬆️ But if your knees go straight forward (or worse, cave in) you lose hip stability, your glutes switch off, and your quads end up doing all the work 🙅♂️

The push press is a full-body power move when done right. But most people blur the lines between a strict press, a jerk, and a bounce. Here’s how to do it properly: • Start with a solid front rack elbows slightly in front of the bar • Dip straight down (not forward), chest tall, heels flat • Drive through the legs and transfer power into the press • Finish with full lockout overhead biceps to ears It’s not a jump. It’s not a strict press. It’s controlled leg drive + an explosive finish. Master the mechanics, and you’ll press heavier, safer, and more efficiently. Almost hit a push press triple PR @ 88kg / 193lb. Unfortunately ‘almost’ doesn’t count in weightlifting, so back to work we go. My goal is 90kg for 3 by the end of the year. #nobodycaresworkharder

The push press is one of the best jerk strength accessories you’re not doing enough. It builds explosive leg drive, reinforces vertical bar path, and lets you overload your overhead lockout—without the complexity of a split or power jerk. Add it weekly for stronger clean & jerks. #weightlifting #pushpress #olympicweighlifting #shoulders #shoulderstrength #legs #quads #athlete #athletic
