Most people think they have “tight hip flexors”but often they’re actually weak. Your hip flexors don’t just lift your leg, they help stabilize your spine + pelvis. Strong hip flexors can help: • Improve core stability • Reduce low back overload • Support hip joint mechanics • Improve balance + coordination • Boost running efficiency + speed And adding single-leg balance work? That’s your secret weapon for stronger ankles, knees, hips and better fall prevention as we age.

Why you should do this every leg day 👇 ✔ Before: Dynamic stretching Activates muscles, boosts mobility, prevents injury. ✔ After: Static stretching Relieves tightness, improves flexibility, supports recovery. #legday #warmupexercise #stretching

This is probably 3 of the most important hip flexors exercises that I do regularly to keep my legs high ALL ROUND. Our hip flexors do A LOT for us- if we understand them and condition them correctly it can really benefit us. Here are some things to keep in mind when doing these stretches: 1) Listen to your body! There is a MASSIVE difference between pain and discomfort. If its painful you should stop. 2) DO NOT BOUNCE in and out of any of these stretches. Bouncing in a stretch can trigger an injury response and the muscles will tighten up and it won’t end well. Try relaxing into it the deeper you go. 3) Doing the exercise once works but if you do sets with rest in between-just like in the gym- then you can maximise the benefit and increase the rate of improvement! Leave a comment if you want me to keep doing these or if you want different exercises or if you want beginner/intermediate/advanced exercises? The best way to learn a middle split is by combining active and passive drills. You need to lengthen your inner thighs, but you also have to strengthen your outer hips to avoid injuries. 🌶️ Pancake pull & push The pancake stretch is one of the best exercises for middle splits. I like to train it actively by holding a weight and pulling it toward me, then pushing it away. This really targets the inner thighs. 🌶️ Fire hydrants Great for building active hip strength and improving hip abduction. 🌶️ Quadruped leg circles Similar to fire hydrants , they train active mobility and strengthen your hips in all directions. I love this drill. 🌶️Frog stretch An amazing hip opener that stretches exactly the muscles you need for your middle split. An easier version is keeping both legs bent. You can do these dynamically or hold them statically. DM me “COACHING” for a free consultation call. #strongandflexible #middlesplit #middlesplitstretch #flexibilityprogress #mobilitycoach

New Segment ✨ Flex’s Favorite Stretches Lauren’s favorite stretches are Lunges and Pigeon to target the hip flexors. Pressing your hips forward into the lunge to initiate the lengthening of the hip flexor. For in the deeper stretch in the Pigeon, tuck the toe under and straighten the back leg. Happy Stretching!!🤩

Better to use dumbbells for this exercise so thy don’t touch the floor. 1. Knee can be further away from the wall if quads are tight 2. Tuck your hips, squeeze your glutes- hold this for 30sec + 3. Maintaining the glute squeeze, lunge and bring hips forward into the hip stretch - hold for 30 sec +

The Anchor & Step Just like it sounds — anchor all your weight into your stabilizing leg while you slowly step the other leg out to the side. Sink slightly into a squat on your standing leg. The deeper you sit, the more you’ll feel the burn 🔥 This is a gentle but powerful exercise for hip and knee stability — especially important for balance, walking, stairs, and golf swings. Tip: If balance feels challenging, hold onto a counter, chair, or sturdy anchor for support. Slow. Controlled. Strong. Like this post if you want more stability-focused exercises 👇

👉🏽 When done right, this move: • strengthens glute & back (posture) • improves core responsiveness in rotation • engages posterior oblique chains (back) • stretches anterior oblique chains (front) -Keep the hands & knees (base) slightly wider & move with control, to make balance easier. -Exaggerate the reach of the arm + extension of the leg, to create a full, front-of-body stretch. * do a set of 10 (per side) throughout the day, or do 2x12 and a warm up or cool down. . . . . 🎵: License code: PEO6WPNWK6LQ1SCQ
