BIG NEWS! Introducing @ourcuratedabode, a new DIY and interior destination in Ramsgate (and hopefully the online world too!). It’s been a long time coming (‘scuse the Taylor reference), but is also happening slightly earlier than I’d forecast thanks to the perfect space becoming available. As many of you know, I’ve spent the last 9 months training in carpentry, as well as various courses in DIY and upholstery before. It’s become pretty apparent that I want to create something accessible in the DIY world, and there’s also very much a gap locally for somewhere to grab all those last minute bits for decorating and building. The opportunity arose, and I decided to grab it while I could. I’ve got a lot more to say on the matter, and there’s a lot more to come, but for now, I just wanted to start sharing the journey. After months of squirrelling away on my business plan, stock, finances (and some other more exciting bits), it’s time to start decorating the shop itself. Junior Zoo keeper for the day at @howlettspark ~ [ad] This new experience at Howletts is perfect for animal lovers! We went along to the preview and my kids loved getting up close to so many animals. We were walked around the zoo in a small group (5 kids in total) by a park ranger and got to explore behind the scenes and go into some of the animal enclosures. The day includes; Rhino feed Meet the lemurs activity Behind the scenes of the Gorillas Red River hog feed Squirrel monkey activity Dwarf mongoose feed Maned wolf feed We finished with a certificate and some play time in the newly built play area. 🎟️ £175 - includes park entrance, zoo keeper experience for 1 x child and accompanying adult, goody bag and certificate. Retail sales in the UK rose in July according to the latest figures. The ONS says the hot weather and Women’s Euro’s helped the growth. But sales are still lower than they were before the Covid pandemic struck five years ago. And 1 in 7 high street shops in the UK are still empty.
