Underground caves lined with millions of shells, and no one knows who built them. The Shell Grotto in Margate, Kent, England, stands as one of history’s most baffling mysteries. Discovered in 1835, this hidden passageway is adorned with over 4.6 million meticulously arranged shells, forming elaborate mosaics that cover every inch of its walls and ceilings.

Join me on the narrow boat called the Jack Rabbit on the Regents Canal as we travel through the Islington Tunnel. The tunnel is an impressive 960 yards (just shy of 1km). Opened in 1818 and built by the engineer James Morgan. Historically, as there is no tow path, narrow boats had to be "legged" through the tunnel. Even with our motor it still took 14 minutes and 8 seconds to get from one end to the other. For "slow sunday" my next post is a ten minute video (the max allowed on Insta) of the journey!
