This exercise should be at the end of your back workout 3-4 sets once a week! Can also be combined with a glute biased back extension on glute days which also targets a bit your lower back as well, but I recommend leaving 48hrs rest between the back and the glute session 🫶 Save this tutorial for your next back session 👀 . . . . . . . #back #backworkout #lowerback #erectors #erectorspinae

We train our biceps, why not our lower backs? If you aren’t ready for isolation like this, comment “Back” and we will send you a series that has some more appropriate exercises for people that are in pain or just getting started with training. Back tightness can often be resolved just by strengthening the back in a variety of ways. This is just one exercise that focuses primarily on extending the lower back from a flexed position. Start with 5-10 reps and see how you feel. All good? Do 5-10 reps with a 2-second hold at the top. Feel good? Start increasing the reps and hold or even put a dumbbell to squeeze between your legs. Embrace the lower back pumps! We love to pump up other muscles and joints in the body like the arms, legs, glutes, and shoulders and there is a great benefit from doing that. The lower back is no different. As always, slowly progress over time. Injuries often occur when we increase the difficulty of an exercise too quickly, often after having not done enough for that area of the body for a long time. @the.shirtlessdude #backpain #backday #lowerback #discbulge #discherniation #discdegeneration #backstrength #heds #eds #hypermobility #hsd

This video demonstrates a back-extension–based strength exercise, commonly used to train the posterior chain, which includes the glutes, hamstrings, lower back (erector spinae), and supporting core muscles. Movements like this are important because modern lifestyles often involve long hours of sitting, which weakens these muscles and increases the risk of lower-back pain and poor posture. Research in exercise science shows that controlled hip-hinge movements improve spinal stability, athletic performance, and injury prevention when performed with proper form and moderate load. The focused body alignment here highlights how strength training is not just about lifting heavy weights, but about muscle control, balance, and correct biomechanics. Exercises targeting the posterior chain also play a key role in improving daily functional movements such as bending, lifting, and maintaining posture, making workouts like this essential for both fitness progress and long-term physical health. Stop doing hyperextensions wrong. If you’re bending through your lower back, you’re missing the point. The movement should come from your hips — not spinal overextension. Control the descent. Squeeze the glutes. Protect your spine. #hyperextensions #lowerbackworkout #GluteTraining #TrainSmart

Back Extensions are epic for the Glutes 🍑 But there’s a few tweaks that help them become even better ⬇️ 🍑 Load with a heavy band. Yes you can progress this. You just get a heavier band. Or more bands. It’s not rocket science. 🍑 Make sure the pad is set BELOW your hip crease and think of an RDL on the way down, a hip thrust on the way up aka move from your damn hips 🍑 Rotate your feet out slightly. Think 11 and 1 on a clock face. Trust me. Do it. 🍑 Bonus stop craning the fuck out of your neck. Neutral head position. Don’t be weird. OG Video @angeliquestalker

Pay attention to the muscle groups shown in this video. Your spinal erectors, QLs, abdominals, hip flexors, & piriformis. If the muscles that connect to your lower back are weak and tight, you’d have to be LUCKY not to have back issues. Get these muscles strong and mobile to take luck out of the equation. Start slow and at your own pain free level. But never stop chasing more pain free ability. You have so much more potential than you think. If you don’t want to manually look for progression videos on each movement, I have done for you lower back programs inside my Skool community. All exercises are structured for you with progression videos. The link is on my profile.
