In this episode, we deeply carved and sanded the wood. Then we created the inner and outer epoxy molds and fully decorated the hollow with natural moss and wood elements. After that, we started embedding the decoration in epoxy. Keep watching.

You want depth — not coverage. Let the grain show. ✨ Sealed with 3 coats of water-based satin poly (I spray everything). Light scuff between coats. ✨ Homemade toner = the magic: I mix a couple tablespoons of brown water-based stain into my water-based satin poly and spray thin, even coats. It warms everything up, evens out the finish, and makes it look less “freshly painted” and more custom. Subtle. But elevated. Welding the rear part of the door so that it now latches. It was important to take my time aligning the panels and marking the cut line in order to pull off a neat corner weld. It was all sanded back smooth and now latches easily, holing the door solid. As you can see, there’s still a bit of flex/ wobble within the door but once that bottom bar is welded in it will be much more solid, especially after the outer is skinned. All welded with the @cigweldesab revenge Tig welder, happy to be in partnership with these guys.
