🐚DIY Seashell Paint Palette Instructions: This was my first ever palette, and I have to say, seashells and clay may just be my new favorite craft. It’s a wonderful, relaxing project, and I’m already planning my next one. 🎨 Materials: I found it easiest to order all my materials off Amazon, but I highly recommend using your own shells for a palette that’s more special and personal to you. I just had trouble finding everything in one place and wanted a more uniform look for this first project. WHAT YOU NEED: * Air-dry clay * Clay starter kit (with shaping tools) * Clay glaze * Seashells & seaglass * Beads & pearls * Ceramic glue

 STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS: • Plan Your Design: Begin by sketching out the shape of your palette on paper. Then, arrange your chosen seashells, seaglass, and other decorative elements on the sketch to get a feel for the final design. • Shape Your Clay: Take a portion of the air-dry clay and roll it out to your desired palette shape and thickness (about half an inch to an inch is great). Use the tools from your starter kit to smooth the edges and shape it just right. • Add Your Seashells: Gently press your seashells into the clay to create the indentations for your paint wells. For the seaglass and smaller elements like beads or pearls, you can simply push them into the clay. For heavier or less stable items, a small dab of ceramic glue will help secure them in place. • Let It Air Dry: The air-dry clay needs time to set completely. For a palette of this size, it took about 3 full days to ensure it was completely dry and solid. Be patient—it’s worth it! • Glaze for a Finish: Once your palette is dry, apply a thin, even coat of clay glaze over the entire palette. After it has dried, apply a second coat. This will seal the clay and give it a beautiful, shiny finish. • Final Dry & Enjoy: Wait another 24 hours to ensure the glaze is completely set.
