I’ve started working through my reclaim again because I’m running low on clay. I’ve been rehydrating dry clay to make slip, then drying it out on my large plaster bats. Once it reaches the consistency I want for throwing, I run it through my pug mill to mix it thoroughly and de-air it. That way the clay is ready to use for the coming weeks of making new pots. #art #ceramic #handmade #asmr #satisfying

I’ve been experimenting with something new in my ceramic workflow… and it involves plaster 👀 Instead of sculpting the same form over and over, I decided to make a simple plaster mold to help keep certain shapes consistent while still finishing each piece by hand. There’s something really satisfying about mixing the plaster, pouring it, and peeling it back to reveal the mold. It feels a little like magic every time. I love finding small ways to make my studio time smoother while still keeping everything handmade and full of character.
