🩵Another Birthday cake prep tradition in the books!! My daughter wanted a beach theme, but she didn’t want anything kiddish! Ha! This sweet sandy beach cake might be my favorite to date! 🐚🏝️ I always do a late night cake session the night before my girls birthday parties and surprise them the next day! 🥰 The decorations looked so pretty and it was so easy to do! ✨✨✨ I used Crushed graham crackers for sand. I washed some of my late grandmothers favorite seashells she collected and placed some around the cake. I also used some fun sea shell and pearl chocolate molds to make edible seashells and pearls. Added a few pearl sprinkles and voila! A pretty neutral beach cake! I do tend to use boxed cake mixes when making birthday cakes but I always use homemade frosting!! 😋 ➡️For this cake she wanted straight vanilla. I used 2 French vanilla boxed cake mixes to make the cakes. Each box makes 2 layers for a total of 4! I bake the cakes a few days ahead, wrap them in plastic and freeze! Pop them out when you’re ready to frost and decorate! Vanilla buttercream🩵 Makes enough to fill, frost, and decorate 3 cups of unsalted butter 9 cups of powdered sugar 3 tsp of vanilla extract - for pure white icing I use clear vanilla 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream Pinch of salt In a bowl of stand mixer add your butter and cream a few minutes. Keep mixer on low and gradually add your powdered sugar. Slowly until it’s all incorporated. Increase your mixer speed to about medium speed and add in your remaining ingredients.
