try this shutter drag photo idea! 📸 Create a dreamy vibe with this shutter drag halation effect using a flash and photographing at blue hour. 🛑 Want images like these? ✴️ Shutter drag is a great way to mix up your photography. I recommend using a shutter speed of 1/4 or less (I’ve went as low as 1/1.6, but images are less sharp). The 30% steady part at the beginning allows for a mostly sharp and focused image, and the 70% flick at the end allows for the light streaks that this method is famous for. This type of picture requires a good amount of trial and error, but the results speak for themselves! ✅ Follow for more daily photography content! #shutterdrag #tutorial #photography #automotivephotography #photographytutorial #howto #madewithlightroom #carmeet #carshoot #photoshoot

Creative Shutter Drag Street Photography Idea 📸 💬: Comment “ PRESET “ and I will send you the link to my Lightroom Presets pack to help you level up your photos with just a few clicks! 📸 What is a Shutter Drag? Shutter drag at night is one of the most powerful techniques for capturing light trails, motion blur, and atmosphere in street photography. It’s ideal for city lights, cars, neon signs, and people moving through dark streets. 📌 Night shutter drag camera settings • Shutter speed: 1/2 – 1/10 • ISO: 100–400 (raise only if needed) • Continuous autofocus (AF-C) • Slight camera movement or subject tracking The goal isn’t sharpness everywhere — it’s about contrast between stillness and motion. Street lights stay defined while movement turns into abstract light trails, creating a cinematic, long-exposure look straight out of camera. #photography

Slow shutter speed pics have to be blurry... right? WRONG! It done correctly, you can get results like this where the image is sharp, but the famous shutter drag effect still takes place. The key? Keeping a steady hand for the initial 30-50 percent of the shutter. This is a very short period of time, but keeping stead during it is the difference maker between a sharp and a blurry image. settings: SS: 1/4 ISO: 50 F/4.5 53mm (24-70mm lens) Tutorial is pinned on my page! shutter drags are super fun! Unfortunately I’ve seen so many photogs be content with a mediocre shutter drags. Just because you successfully did a shutter drag does not make it a good one. No matter the shot or effect, remember to pursue excellence and quality! • Shout out @amcjphotos for teaching me this.
