Happy Spring Equinox! 🌻 🌸Comment FLOWER below and I’ll send a link for these flower molds, my favorite natural soap base, and some natural colorants I used. For beginner soap makers, these are so easy to make and you can’t really mess them up! They turn out absolutely beautiful every single time! Ingredients: -2 pounds melt and pour soap (I used goats milk, but shea butter soap base also works well). -Flower silicone molds -Large rectangle silicone mold -Natural colorants such as mica powder, safflower, turmeric, beet root, alfalfa, annatto, indigo, alkanet, rose kaolin clay, hibiscus, etc. -8g of essential oils of choice (approximately 160 drops) I used an uplifting herb garden blend of lavender, basil and geranium. To make: -Chop soap base and melt on low in double boiler or on 50% power in microwave. -Once melted, add essential oils of choice -Separate out small amounts of the soap to color adding 1/2 teaspoon of colorant at a time until you reach your desired pigment. -Pour small amount of yellow soap in middle of the flower mold and let dry for approximately 10 minutes. Then layer with color of choice. -Let soap sit to solidify for at least 1 hour before removing from the molds. -Meanwhile pour a layer of soap into large rectangle base and let dry. I did three layers here so once first layer dry, I poured second. -Once dry, I poured a third layer of white and immediately added my flowers to it. -Spray top of soap with high proof alcohol spray to eliminate any bubbles. -Let sit to solidify at least 2 hours before cutting. Hope these put a little spring in your step 😉🌻

The hardest soap I’ve ever made. I was scared to do this ocean soap for a long time. I’ve had those shell moulds since the start of my soap-making journey, but I didn’t think I was a good enough soap maker to pull it off. I was wrong. I could have done this ages ago, but because I put it off for so long, it became this huge thing I kept ignoring 😂 I can’t wait to see where my soap-making journey takes me this year 🧡 #soap #soapmaking #oceansoap #smallbusiness #handmadesoap

I Made My Own Soap From Scratch (and I’m Never Buying It Again)🧼 I’ve been on a mission to recreate the everyday products I use…but with ingredients I actually trust. Soap was first on the list, and honestly? It was way easier than I expected. Here’s the full recipe so you can make it at home: What you’ll need: - 623g coconut oil -226g filtered water -80g lye (sodium hydroxide) -Eye protection + gloves (the lye is corrosive and will burn skin on contact) -Oils (I used: lemongrass, rosemary, lavender, sweet orange, apricot, vitamin E, Haitian castor oil, poppy seeds, bee pollen) How to make it: -Melt your coconut oil and set aside. In a stainless steel container, slowly mix your lye into the filtered water, never the other way around. It will get very hot immediately, which is totally normal. This is an exothermic reaction. Let it cool slightly, then combine it with your melted coconut oil. -Stir with a wooden spoon until you see the mixture start to get cloudy…that’s saponification beginning. Then use a hand blender for about 10 minutes until the mixture thickens to “trace,” which looks like a light pudding or liquid soap consistency. Be patient, it takes a while but it will get there. -Pour into molds, add your mix-ins, swirl with a toothpick, and label each one so you remember what’s in them. -Leave overnight to set, then remove from molds. Important: You must let the bars cure for 4-6 weeks before using them. This gives the saponification reaction time to fully complete and ensures there’s no active lye left in the bar. It also lets the water evaporate so your bars come out hard and long-lasting. After 4 weeks, test them out and never buy soap again.
