happy monday 🤍 it took me a minute to get this video edited this morning, but we’re cutting soap and that’s always a good way to start the week. Today’s cut is our rose geranium + pink grapefruit bar — and little heads up… soon we’ll be changing the name to just grapefruit + geranium 🍊🌿 same dreamy bar, same fresh citrus-floral scent… just a simpler name. What happens when you pour too soon. 😭 Story time! While most of you are busy selling soaps at holiday markets, I've been working on what *should* be a simple tutorial on how to control trace (the rate that soap batter sets up) and recognize when the soap is ready to pour. Except it hasn't been simple!!! First recording went "fine" but there was some pertinent info that I forgot to include, so I thought I'd try it again. This is my second try. Definitely failed to recognize when it was ready to pour. On to my third try! Oh no. One color traced faster than the other two. Now I've failed to control trace! Tomorrow....yes, tomorrow I will be making my fourth attempt. I've learned something with every batch. For what it's worth, I will share my best practices that *usually* work. But it's still a chemical reaction with a variety of factors and sometimes they don't react as expected!
