What a joy it is to create. Over the past two days, I had the privilege of learning and creating alongside the incredible @kate.rutter through her Being With Flowers class. As I continue on this floral journey, I’m always in awe of industry friends and grateful for every opportunity to absorb new ways of seeing. Kate’s approach, balancing intention with intuition deeply resonated with me. We definitely had a lot of cosmic connections through vision, scents, and music throughout! In this class, I followed inspiration rooted in my childhood in Indonesia, layered with the Western influences that shaped the later parts of my life. The result: a series of vignettes beautifully captured by @tracescollective that I can’t wait to revisit once they’re ready. This particular scene brings me back to a warteg table. Contact paper surfaces, fresh peppers on display, the hum of everyday life (and yes, the occasional fly). Wartegs are humble neighborhood food stalls. Simple, affordable, deeply woven into daily rhythm. Here, the orchids become our butterflies. A softer, more elegant echo of that memory.

You understand that beauty doesn't need to announce itself. Tadao Ando taught us that architecture is about removing everything that doesn't belong. I bring the same discipline to floral design—structure, light, and the courage to let simplicity speak. This is floral architecture.

A single flower trembles in the light, its subtle character just barely revealed. The petals open slowly; my hands hesitate, watch, shift, seeking balance. Gradually, the forms arrange themselves, light flowing through, creating spaces for the eye to rest. The composition becomes a visual cocoon : a space to breathe, a suspended refuge, where each imperfection adds life and rhythm. Imperfect, alive, fragile, yet whole. It’s in this tension that the softness settles. FR- Une seule fleur vacille dans la lumière, son caractère subtil se laisse deviner. Les pétales s’ouvrent doucement, mes mains hésitent, observent, déplacent, cherchent l’équilibre. Peu à peu, les formes s’organisent, la lumière circule, crée des interstices où le regard peut se poser. La composition devient un cocon visuel : un espace à respirer, un refuge suspendu, où chaque imperfection ajoute du souffle et de la vie. Imparfaite, vivante, fragile, mais entière.
