In general, test cut-offs are decided basis high SPECIFICITY. Because it reduces the chances of non-diabetics being labelled diabetic. The current HbA1c cut off of 6.5% does exactly that. . All this is anyway only relevant for borderline cases or those who are pre-diabetic. As your HbA1c goes up, it becomes more and more accurate. And there’s no doubt. . I made this skit as I get innumerable questions on my HbA1c is this or that am I diabetic, do I need metformin etc - these questions need to be investigated with your doctor, not me. I can only help you understand what these numbers are. . And these numbers are just highlighting the RISKS of you developing diabetes complications like heart disease, kidneys, vision loss etc. The risk is minimal at lower HbA1c, starts increasing after 5.7 and shoots up like a hockey stick after 6.5. . Most people with unmanaged diabetes commonly experience heart attacks. In India a fair number of those who were hospitalized for heart attack in Delhi were discovered to be diabetic after the hospital did the routine tests. T2 Diabetes increases your risk of many other diseases and complications and the possibility of that happening increases as your HbA1c increases. That’s what this number is. . So, just a reminder that if you’re borderline then irrespective of your number- you need to build a healthy lifestyle anyway. It makes no sense to wait for the number to go up even more before you act on it. Prevention is anyday better than cure and a healthy lifestyle is for EVERYONE. Tendon Adaptations in Fast Bowlers‼️ ✅In the @pacelablimited system, we don’t just train muscles—we target tendons. Fast bowling is a tendon-dominant activity. Tendons connect muscle to bone and act like springs, storing and releasing elastic energy to amplify force. The faster the tendon can stiffen and recoil, the more efficiently force transfers from the ground through the kinetic chain into ball velocity. ✅The most critical site for this adaptation is the muscle–tendon junction (MTJ)—where muscle fibers merge into tendon collagen. High-speed bowling stresses this zone repeatedly. With the right stimulus, tendons adapt by becoming thicker (increased load tolerance), stiffer (faster force transfer), and more neurologically efficient (better motor unit timing and reflex control). ‼️We use two main tools:🔨 • Overload implements (heavier balls, isometrics, eccentric holds) to build tendon thickness and resilience. • Underload implements (lighter balls, plyometrics, reactive drills) to increase stiffness and elastic recoil. ‼️📊Training volume and frequency are adjusted based on Drop-Off % and AREG, ensuring that loading is enough to stimulate adaptation, not breakdown. Tendon health isn’t just about structure—it’s about CNS control. The Golgi tendon organs and muscle spindles reset with exposure to high-speed force, allowing bowlers to tolerate and transmit more force over time. ✅If you want to bowl faster, you need tendons that can snap—not sag.
