There are many ways of knitting an SSK (slip slip knit), but these are the simplest and most efficient, in my opinion. Do you use either of these methods, or something different entirely? 🤍 Method 1️⃣: 1. Slip 1 stitch as if to knit 2. Slip 1 stitch as if to PURL 3. Insert the left needle into the front legs of the 2 slipped stitches and knit the 2 stitches together 🩶 Method 2️⃣: 1. Slip 1 stitch as if to knit 2. Slip 1 more stitch as if to KNIT 3. Insert the left needle into the front legs of the 2 slipped stitches and knit the 2 stitches together The difference between these 2 methods is how to slip the second stitch. Method 1️⃣ twists the stitch so that it neatly fold behind the front (first) stitch. Method 2️⃣ keeps the stitch flat so the front stitch lies on top of the back stitch. How to make a left-leaning decrease (SSK - slip, slip, knit) When you knit two stitches together you get a right-leaning decrease. If you want to have symmetrical decreases, for example for the right and left armhole on a sweater or cardigan, you can make a right-leaning decrease on one side but will then need a left-leaning decrease for the opposite side. This is how to make a left-leaning decrease. #knitting #stricken #strik

My favourite way to SSK: Slip two stitches, one at a time, as if to purl. Slip these same two stitches back to your left hand needle repositioning them so that the first stitch slipped crosses in front of the second. The stitches have switched places on your left hand needle. K2TOG these two stitches. Tada!
