STEP BY STEP GUIDE on HOW TO GROW AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF BASIL

STEP BY STEP GUIDE on HOW TO GROW AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF BASIL FOR FREE! 🌱🌱🌱 Basil is one of the easiest herbs to propogate and multiply! All you need are some cuttings from your favorite basil plant and a glass of water!! 1. Take cuttings of basil stems that are not flowering or diseased. Cut a 4 to 6 inch long stem, leaving small baby leaves intact on the mother plant to continue growing. 2. Strip off the leaves from the bottom 2 inches of the stem. 3. Place it in a glass of water making sure that no leaves are submerged under water. 4. Change the water every 2 days. 5. Roots should start developing in 7 to 10 days. Once roots are about an inch or two long transplant into a well draining pot or container that’s filled with rich, fluffy, organic soil. You can also transplant into the garden too if the weather is suitable. You can multiply basil whenever you want but especially do it in late summer before your basil plant succumbs to frost in fall. Many other herbs can be multiplied or propagated in water from cuttings too! Mint, oregano, thyme and stevia are a few good options! Please like and save this post if you found it useful. 💚 #basil #propagation #herbs #containergarden #urbangarden #vegetablegarden #homegrown #urbanorganicgardener #organicgardening #urbangardeninglife #greenthumbgardener #organicgardenermag #growyourownfood #healthylifestyle #backyardharvest #gardenblogger #backyardgarden #thehappygardeninglife #harvestbaskets #backyardbounty #sustainablesprout #showusyourgarden #waterpropagation #indoorgardening #wintergarden #growyourown #growyourownfood #njgardening #njgardener #gardener

THE BASIL TRICK 🌿 1. Never water the soil, only water the saucer 2. Always keep the saucer full 3. Never pluck, always trim the stem just above a leaf Some other helpful tips: 4. Use an XL saucer or bowl. It will drink what it needs! 5. Repotting into a bigger pot will mean a bigger basil! Use normal potting soil. You can split supermarket plants into multiple pots if you want. Make sure the top of the soil is dry before you start under watering. 6. This works best in the warmer months and INDOORS! 7. Basil loves a sunny spot 🌞 8. Wait until your basil is growing before you trim 9. Give it time - these plants are three to four months old 10. Once it’s big, trimming will keep your basil healthy and bushy. Trim off any flowers immediately! 11. I use terracotta pots and water impermeable saucers. BASIL OIL 🌿 The perfect way to use up a tonne of fresh basi

BASIL OIL 🌿 The perfect way to use up a tonne of fresh basil, especially if you’re looking for something else to make other than pesto! It adds a beautiful fresh flavour and instantly elevates any dish. Ingredients 1 bunch fresh basil, leaves only Neutral oil (I used avocado - see step 4 for exact ratios) Method: 1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and prepare an ice bath on the side. Rinse the leaves well then add to the water and blanch for 10-15 seconds until wilted and vibrant green. 2. Immediately transfer the basil into an ice bath to stop the cooking and preserve the colour. 3. Once cooled, drain and squeeze out as much water as possible and transfer into a blender with twice the amount of oil by weight (a 1:2 ratio of basil to oil). For example, if using 100g basil, add 200mL oil. The more oil you use, the milder the flavour will be and vice versa. Blend until completely smooth. 4. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, cheesecloth or coffee filter and allow it to slowly strain, separating the oil from the pulp. 5. Transfer the leftover pulp to a jar, top with a little oil, cover and store in the fridge. It’s perfect stirred through pasta or spread onto toast (you can season with a pinch of salt if you like). 6. Transfer the oil into a clean jar or squeeze bottle and store in the fridge. Use within 3-5 days for best freshness, or up to 1 week. #plantbased #veganrecipes #easyrecipes #basiloil #basil

The Basil Trick and my top basil tips in a reel 🎞 (my first and probably last) Here it is, short and sweet: 1. Put your potted basil in a bowl or saucer of water and always keep the saucer full. 2. Do not water from above, only water the saucer. 3. Make sure it has plenty of natural light. 4. When using basil, don’t pluck off the leaves. Cut off the stem just above a leaf node. It will regrow beautifully and become even bushier. 5. Repot into a larger pot if you want a bigger, bushier basil! 🌿🌱🍃

This isn’t a trend. It’s a return. You juggle a lot. Home, work, family, emotions—your nervous system is doing overtime. But before stress was something we managed with coffee or scrolling, women turned to something simple and powerful: basil. Across time and culture, basil was more than food—it was medicine. And it still is. Modern science now confirms what grandmothers have always known: basil uplifts mood, calms anxiety, eases overwhelm, and helps you bounce back from stress. ✨ Holy basil (Tulsi) helps lower cortisol and regulate your stress response ✨ Sweet basil supports serotonin and gently lifts your spirits ✨ Aromatic varieties like lemon or cinnamon basil bring clarity and lightness to the mind ✨ All basils soothe the gut—and we all know the gut is the second brain If you’re building a home that heals, stocking your kitchen with herbs that nourish, or reclaiming your emotional well-being without reaching for synthetic solutions—start with basil. Grow it. Brew it. Chop it. Sip it. Let it support you the way it has supported women for centuries. 🛒 Add more basil to your garden, your grocery list, your teapot. 💚 Because your life is full—and you deserve tools that truly care for you. #KitchenMedicine #MoodSupport #HerbsForModernWomen #BuyMoreBasil #TulsiTea #HomeHerbalist #AnxietySupport #WomenWhoHeal

BASIL TIP! 🌿🍃 Did you know the way you prune your basil determines how bushy it grows? Here's how to get an endless supply of basil with this simple pruning technique ✂️ > Cut off the main stem just above the node (where a new set of leaves are) > Repeat this process on any new sets of leaves as the plant continues to grow (you're doubling it each time you prune!) > You can also pop all of those cuttings into water and propagate them! Once they form roots, plant into soil and enjoy your infinite basil glitch 🫣🫢🌱 #gardening #vegetablegarden #gardenharvest #homegrownbasil #homegrownfood organicfood gardeninspo homegrown garden veggiegarden basilpruning

psa: give your basil as much sun as possible! 🍃 🌞 i thought i had spaced them out sufficiently but after our rapid growth over the last week (thanks @completegrow 😉), our basil gave us a great example of how the amount of sun it receives impacts its growth, size and flavour. all four basils were planted at the exact same time, watered and fed together. the only difference is how much sun they each got! #garden #growingbasil #backyardgardening #gardeningtips

I love basil flower as much as I love basil. I almost only grow it for the flower at this point. Bees love it and it makes one hell of a brew. We snip and dehydrate all season long. Then when it’s tea time, we’ll just steep some buds in hot water. And I’m not kidding when I say lemon basil makes a fruit loop flavored tea. #backyardgarden #gardening #backyardgardening #gardeningforbeginners #gardentips #gardeningtips #gardeninglife #gardentipsandtricks #gardenlife #organicgardening #tealovers #basilflowers
