🌲Let’s take a walk!👟 📍Tryon Creek State Natural Area Expansive walking trail on the outskirts of Portland with so much to offer! I would recommend looking at a map at the beginning of the trail before you start your walk. There is a Nature Center near parking with maps, restrooms, information about wild life, and plenty of seating for snacks and lunch. The trails are wooded with a “choose your own adventure” feel - one trail branching to another that lead to small bridges overlooking streams of water. There are equestrian trails intertwined with the walking trail and ADA friendly trails that are paved with viewing decks. #oregon #walking #walkingtrails #portlandoregon #portland #portlandwalks #oregonwalks #pdx #pdxlife #oregonexplored #traveloregon #lakeoswego #tryoncreek #tryoncreekstatenaturalarea #tryoncreekstatepark #walks

Trillium season at Tryon Creek 🌸 This canyon was once slated to become a subdivision—until people like Lu Beck and Jean Siddall helped organize a movement to protect it, leading to the creation of Friends of Tryon Creek. Today, these trilliums bloom because of that effort. And they don’t come easy—years to grow, seconds to damage. Wrote this one about slowing down, staying on trail, and paying attention to what’s right under our feet. And the Trillium Festival is coming up 🌸 Trails & Tunes. 1 trail. 1 song. every week. Thanks to my incredible fianceé @prestonm28 for singing the killer harmonies! #trilliums #tryoncreek #orstateparks #trailsandtunes #trilliumfestival

🌲Kid friendly hiking ideas near Portland, OR! We are always looking for some new hiking options to take our kids to when we are at home for the weekend. Here are 3 options we love: 🥾Tryon Creek State Natural Area: there are multiple kid friendly trails in this park. They vary from 1 to 4 miles long, very low elevation gains and multiple creeks for kids to play. Its located about 15 min from Portland downtown 🥾Lower Macleay to Stone House (also known as the Witches House). Park in The Upper Macleay parking lot near the Audubon Society and walk down the trail for half a mile following the markers that lead to the Stone House. 5 min from Portland downtown. 🥾Lautorell Falls Loop Hike: Falls located in the Columbia River Gorge. We started clockwise and were glad we did. There is a 0.2m walk to get to the lower falls and 1.1m to the Upper Falls. So a total of 2.5m loop hike. About 30 min from Portland downtown. Getting on a hike with the kids is not always their favorite choice but we have such a great time together in the trail that we always agree it was worthy! 🥰 Drop in the comments what is your favorite kid hike near Portland so we all can see more options! 🙌🏻 🌎Please remember to leave no trace. 🌸 Spring is renewal- fresh new beginnings- color! Nothing gives me hope more than the first blossoms after winter, The Willamette Valley has the greatest abundance of blooms early on, as higher elevations get their color later into Summer. Cooler temps and late season storms have delayed some blossoms (still snow on the ground at my house!) but look towards lower elevations and warmer climates to see the first flowers of Spring in Oregon.
