Learning to read isn’t always smooth. Sometimes it’s pauses, mixed-up sounds, and a little frustration (for her… and for me). But this is what productive struggle looks like. This is where the growth happens. We are finally starting to see it click, and it’s the most rewarding feeling after walking through the hard parts together. Homeschooling isn’t perfect over here — but watching my girls push through and figure it out? Worth every single moment. #homeschoolmom #learningtoread #productivestruggle #phonics

Homeschooling doesn't limit what or where you can learn. It gives you the freedom to explore, grow, and dive deep into what excites you! 🌱📚

Today caught me off guard. My daughter is academically very advanced. She reads beautifully. She thinks deeply. She connects ideas in ways that honestly surprise me. And then today, she struggled with something simple. Tall letters. Fall letters. Her sizing was inconsistent. Some tall letters were not tall enough. Some fall letters didn’t drop below the line properly. It wasn’t flowing. Here’s what naturally happened. We just walked to the shelf, grabbed our handwriting resources, and practiced tall letters and fall letters without panic. Because in our homeschool, noticing something that needs strengthening does NOT equal deficiency. We don't need labels. It doesn’t mean she’s behind. It doesn’t mean she’s delayed. It doesn’t mean she’s below grade level. It doesn’t mean she’s struggling. It doesn’t mean she’s off track. It doesn’t mean she’s underperforming. It doesn’t mean she’s falling short. It doesn’t mean there’s a gap. It doesn’t mean something is wrong. It simply means: this skill needs more repetition. That’s the quiet advantage of homeschooling. I don’t have to attach identity to timing. I don’t have to move on because a pacing guide says so. I don’t have to label my child the moment something isn’t perfect. We notice. We adjust. We strengthen. We continue. There's no shame. No urgency. No comparison. If you want to raise empowered learners who see practice as normal and growth as flexible, not as proof that they’re “behind”, that’s exactly what I teach inside my $18 / 10 courses series. When I first learned about how Charlotte Mason taught handwriting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation using copywork and dictation for only 10 minutes a day, I knew I wanted to embrace its simplicity. And the lack of busywork appealed to my children who would much rather have more free time in the day to pursue their own interests! ✏️ How we use copywork & dictation in our homeschool using passages from literature and poetry: -at the start of the week, we select a passage from a book we are currently reading, a poem, or scripture -we look over the passage together and note any words that might be tricky to spell, and write them down in a notebook to study through the week -we note punctuation, point out grammar rules we notice -then for 10 minutes a day, they copy out the passage in their neatest handwriting, holding a whole word in their mind at a time to copy before looking back -at the end of the week, they study their passage once more, and then I dictate a part or whole of the passage out loud slowly while they write it down from memory -when the dictation lesson is complete, we look it over for any misspelled words 6 years later and the fruit of the practice is evident in our home with confident spellers with wide vocabularies and an appreciation for beautiful pieces of writing! Comment COPYWORK and I’ll send you a link to 10 weeks worth of spring themed copywork passages from beautiful literature & poetry! 🌷🧺✏️ #homeschooling #charlottemason #homeschool #homeschoolingmom #homeschoolcurriculum

This feels like a turning point. No pressure. No tears. No constant explaining. Just solid tools doing what they’re meant to do. English finally feels doable — for him and for me. If you’re in the messy middle, don’t give up. Sometimes the right combination changes everything 🤍 #intentionallearning #eclectichomeschool #learningathome #homeschoollife #homeschool Curriculum in use: @iew

Having been a teacher in the public school, and having worked with various homeschooling families for over a decade, I’ve seen a lot of curriculum. From the very beginning of my family’s homeschooling journey, The Good and the Beautiful has been our top choice. And I keep choosing it, year after year. It is simple to teach, academically rich, and engaging for my children. Comment TGTB & I’ll send links to everything I mentioned in this video 🤍.

After almost 10 years of homeschooling, we’ve tried our fair share of curriculum… and The Good & The Beautiful continues to be one we come back to again and again 🤍 @thegoodandthebeautiful As my kids have moved into the middle school years and beyond into high school, I’ve become even more intentional about what we use — rigorous, beautiful, and open-and-go enough to actually work in real life. I curated a landing page with our family’s favorite middle and highschool school picks — the ones that have stood the test of time in our home and truly support independent learning, critical thinking, and strong character. If you’re homeschooling and want something solid, structured, multiple kid friendly and beautiful… this is a great place to start. ✨ Click the link in my bio (or check my stories) to see our family favorites! #thegoodandthebeautiful #homeschoolinghighschool #curriculum

I’ve been thinking about homeschooling for a while now. We’ve started small with some posters, writing practice, and phonics games, and I’m just feeling into what this could look like for us. If you homeschool, I’d love to know what did you wish you knew when you first started?

‼️Typical homeschool mess alert‼️ As we are going through our school day we are more concerned about the material we learn, and then I realize at the end what a mess we’ve made 🙃 Even with a big mess, today we tackled: ✅ Bible ✅ Finished our Magic Treehouse Book ✅ Sight words ✅ Phonics ✅ Spelling ✅ Geography ✅ Art ✅ Addition ✅ Money ✅ Concept of a dozen …and so much more! 😍 Loving this homeschool life 📚✏️📓

After a few weeks off due to personal stuff, we were back to it again today! Edith loves doing a folder like Ada and today we started The Good and The Beautiful Math K for her. Her flowers are just so pretty 😍 We love the open and go of @thegoodandthebeautiful and we're done within 5 minutes! #homeschoolfamily #homeedfamily #homeedfamilyuk #homeedfamilylife #homeschooling
