This is the easiest gallery wall hanging method in our opinions! Lay your art out on a surface with plenty of space and keep adjusting the layout until you love it. Then, cut pieces of craft paper out to be the same sizes/shapes as your art. Flip each art piece over and lay your craft paper on the back, making marks/holes where the nail holes should go. Using painters tape, tape the cut outs to the wall where you’ll hang your gallery wall. This way you can get a feel for the layout on the wall itself too! Once each cut out is taped up where the art will go, nail all your nails into the wall using the marked holes you made earlier in the paper cut outs. Last, hang all of your art! This is by far the smoothest and easiest way to make sure all of your art goes exactly where you want it to. Give it a try! ✨

Thinking about doing a gallery wall? Here’s what I wish I knew before I started. Mine isn’t finished — not even close — but I’ve picked up a few tips that might help if you’re starting one too: 1. Pre-plan your layout with the frames you already have. 2. Mix sizes and shapes of frames to keep things visually interesting. 3. Stick to 2–3 themes — whether that’s color, subject, or style — so everything feels tied together. 4. Keep your frames somewhat consistent. I used frames that all have a touch of metallic. 5. Add something personal and unexpected. Mine’s an 1890s English brass ornament and Wedgewood dishes. 6. Use museum putty to keep frames straight. 7. Look beyond art stores. I’ve found great artwork in calendars, vintage books, and printable downloads. 8. Buy your frames secondhand. Antique shops, thrift stores, and Goodwill usually have better character — and better prices. 9. Take your time. It’s not a one-and-done project. I’m still adjusting mine.
