⚠️ Major Weeken Winter Storm Update ❄️ The latest Euro has a concerning trend coming in stronger and slower than the previous run. The slower the storm goes, the more time ice and snow can pileup and accumulate across the region. Obviously it looks like we are moving in the direction towards a historical storm and which I think it may be time to start thinking about preparing for. Now what can you do? If you live in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, or Virginia, you are in the track of the storm for now. I recommend going to the grocery store and getting enough water and non-perishable food for at least a few days. In the highest impacted icing areas you could be trapped for days due to cold temperatures sweeping in behind and locking in the ice. Additionally I recommend getting some extra blankets. If you get in the ice zone it could mean over an inch of ice. This inch of ice makes powerlines about 6-8x more heavy than normal and will cause massive region wide power outages. Power out + cold air will be brutal for millions. I recommend to go early and prepare for the worst, hope for the best and check in on your family, friends and neighbors.
