Little dreadlock tour! I’ve had my dreadlocks now for about 7 1/2 years. I love them more every day! They started as neat and tidy babies. @makemedreadful started them and is who originally inspired me to get into what I do! I owe her all the thanks in the world for helping me become who I am today! Over the years I’ve gone through phases. When I first started my journey I wanted uniformity and order. I wanted everything perfect. I then moved into a phase where I wanted super long extensions and more decoration than you can imagine. I am now here and this is by far my favorite. All natural, no extensions, no color, no anything really. I have a bunch of roots that have grown together and honestly unless roots are combining that are going to cause tension issues, I just let them go. I haven’t done any type of maintenance in a long time. I guess I’m rather lucky that my hair stays as sectioned as it does. I have so many lumps and bumps and twists and turns. It reminds me of a tree and that makes my heart so happy. A magical thing about dreadlocks for me is it forces you to come to terms with yourself. How people see you, how you see yourself, how you view your evolution as a person. It’s a huge part of who I am today and quite honestly, it’s what taught me to be unapologetically myself. I don’t care what others think. Let’s focus on being good people and seeing them for what really matters 💜💜💜. Here’s to the hairstyle that became a lifestyle and taught me to be unapologetically me!!! I get that the messy look isn’t for everyone and that’s okay!
