Last week, our dancers stepped into a new phase of development—one that invites creativity, curiosity, and ownership of movement. This ongoing initiative is designed to nurture choreographic instinct and give dancers the space to explore their own voices through movement. With thoughtful mentorship, these ideas are shaped, refined, and guided toward works that can confidently be shared with an audience. At the same time, the work never stops. Technique is sharpened. Discipline is reinforced. Focus remains clear. Our dancers continue to show that creativity and rigor are not opposites—they fuel one another. Inspiration grows strongest when grounded in consistent, intentional work. This is how artists are built.

1. You can love the art and still feel invisible. Sadly your relationship to the art form does not always override the feelings of doubt and struggle that come with it. 2. Hard work doesn’t always equal opportunity. However with that being said, being the smartest dancer who shows up consistently does not go unnoticed. 4. Most of the job is waiting to be seen. Whether or not you are a corps member or a principal you are constantly waiting for roles or opportunities that have a certain wait time. 5. Growth isn’t always in your control. You may not be able to decide your trajectory or the time line but you can control how you show up everyday. 6. The quiet doubt is heavier than the physical work. This career takes a huge toll on your mental state and your confidence. 7. You are constantly comparing. It is inevitable, you must learn how to use it as fuel to your fire rather than allow it to disturb you. 8. There will always be someone better. As much as this is blunt it is a razor blade you must swallow. That doesn’t mean you should give up or let that impact you. Change the narrative, use it as an inspiration to do better everyday.
