this reel is not about buying books. . . . . (slice of life, storytelling, storyteller, novel, reels, writer, writing, books, buying books, regretting, reading, patti smith, bloomsbury) #fyp #explore #storytelling

Bread of angels by Patti Smith. Patti smith- punk icon, poet, national book award winner, the woman who changed music and literature. and this memoir? it's everything. It starts with her talking about memory. about keeping the dead alive through remembering them. Then she takes you through everything. childhood, choices that break you, art, love, the kind of loss that doesn't stop. She doesn't write pretty. she writes true. and that's what wrecked me. By the end you understand exactly why she started with that line about memory. you feel it in your chest. I cried. Twice. And i'm not even a crier with books usually. Why you should buy this: because we're all tired of books that feel manufactured. this is raw. real. human. it'll make you think about your own life, your own memories, what you're holding onto and why. Some books entertain, this one transforms. Go grab it. You won't regret it. QOTD - what book has changed how you see life? #breadofangels #pattismith #memoir #bookstagram #bookreview

There seemed to be a lot of Autobiographies in the Waterstones sale this year so I was wondering if they’re maybe not as popular as they once were. I’ve only ever read a couple and don’t own any as I tend to read fiction. If you’ve read any who’s would you recommend? #autobiography #celebritybooks #waterstones #bookdisplay #hardbackbooks

First book of the year! I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Patti and Robert evolve throughout the years. Like I said, my only criticism is that Patti felt like an unreliable narrator at some points when reminiscing on her time with Robert and especially towards the end where she glazed over their last few years but then again… we’re all unreliable narrators. Overall I loved her writing style, loved seeing New York through her eyes, and enjoyed learning about her relationship with Robert. #justkids #pattismith #readmorebooks

Books to read before you die! These have been keeping me awake of late You Are Here @davidnichollswriter Raising Hare Chloe Dalton Death of an Ordinary Man Sarah Perry

💛 Reflective + Grateful Every chapter led here. From Lansing… to MBA… to mom of three… to divorce... to author. This box hold more than books — it holds a story years in the making. Getting ready for my upcoming book signing, and feeling incredibly grateful. #AuthorJourney #FullCircleMoment #finhacks #financehacks

📖 #TheCorrespondent #Review 4/5⭐️ “I know you think of me as your mother only, but please remember, inside I am also just a girl” A spontaneous bookstore purchase and one of 2025’s most talked-about titles… Told entirely through letters sent and received by its main character woman, this novel felt unusual at first. No traditional chapters. No linear narration. Just letters, fragments of a life unfolding on paper… And yet, somewhere between the pages, I was hooked. Through these letters, we witness a woman’s career, her family dynamics, her ambitions, her disappointments, and the quiet weight of regret and grief she carries. The format creates distance, but also intimacy. You read what she chooses to write, and what she carefully avoids saying… It is different from anything I have read before. And somehow, it made me sit by the sea a little longer… That state of mind quietly led me to my next read: #meditationsformortals Have you ever read a novel written entirely in letters? #fictionbooks #bestfiction2025

Books I almost didn’t read but I’m really glad I did. Some of these felt intimidating. Some I thought I already knew through pop culture. All of them proved me wrong. The Dutch House I waited far too long. The Tom Hanks narration was the nudge I needed and it lived up to every bit of the hype. Quietly emotional and reflective in the best way. Razorblade Tears This hit harder than expected. Gritty, raw, and surprisingly tender beneath the violence. A Little Life I put this off because it felt daunting. The length, the reputation, the emotional weight. It was devastating and unforgettable and I’m ultimately glad I trusted myself to read it when I was ready. The Summer I Turned Pretty I loved the show and didn’t want to ruin it. Turns out the book held its own. Nostalgic, sincere, and emotionally grounded. Prayers for Sale Set in Colorado, which made it feel even closer to home. Gentle, wise, and a reminder of how powerful quiet stories can be. Horse I trusted Geraldine Brooks but still didn’t expect how layered this would be. History, art, and obsession woven together beautifully. 11/22/63 So much more than time travel. Love, loss, and choice. It absolutely deserves a reread this year. The Goldfinch Long and polarizing, but immersive in a way that completely worked for me. Still thinking about it years later. What’s a book you avoided forever and ended up loving? #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #TBR #bookrecs #booktok
