For me International Women’s Day is not just one day. It’s a way of life. It’s about being inspired by people who dig in, against all odds, and defy it. It’s about people who flip powerless to powerful. . One of the most inspiring people on the planet I know is Ava Costa. Ava is an elite athlete teenager I have coached in Australia that is “currently paralyzed.” (Emphasis on the word: currently.) . I met Ava 6 years ago in April of 2018, when I was traveling to Italy with my niece @livvydunne when she was on Team USA. We were at a world competition in Jesolo and Ava sat next to us in the stands, taking in every moment. (See cute pics in my video!) . Fast forward to April of 2023, Ava fell on a routine dismount off the balance beam and landed on her neck. It’s been 11 months of what any family would consider a giant nightmare as Ava was given a negative prognosis of becoming a quadriplegic, unable to move from the neck down. . A young teenage girl who was used to moving her body for hours a day became truly “stuck.” . Ava had been preparing for 2024 Olympics in Paris, and her dreams were shattered overnight. As her mindset coach, I am incredibly humbled by Ava’s perseverance. She is in relentless pursuit of victory to walk again. . Ava: I am here to remind you that there’s “bigger than Olympic” dreams there for you. You are being thrown a huge negative you know in your heart you will overcome. . Ava gets so much strength from her mama, who’s one of the strongest I know. She also pulls strength from you - her supporters. 🌴 Ao Nang, Krabi: consigli utili 🌴 Per andare alla scoperta di alcune delle isole più belle della Thailandia abbiamo deciso di soggiornare ad Ao Nang, vivace cittadina sulla costa vicino Krabi. 🏨 Se siete alla ricerca di un hotel vi consiglio assolutamente Ava Sea Resort. Camere spaziose, pulite, centralissimo. Proprio fuori l’hotel un Exchange con un tasso di cambio ottimo (perlomeno ogni volta che abbiamo cambiato era così), un 7/11, negozi, locali, ristoranti. 🍛 vi consiglio di cenare al Diver’s Inn Steakhouse provando ovviamente la cucina thailandese! Da non perdere il Pad Thai e il Fried Rice al pollo, gli springrolls (i più buoni mangiati in 40 giorni di viaggio) e il pollo fritto con la salsa agrodolce davvero speciale! 🤤 🛶 Ao Nang è perfetta come base di partenza per le escursioni. Da vedere: Hong Island e le isole vicine, le Four Islands, Phi Phi Islands. Ma su queste vi darò consigli dettagliati nei prossimi post.
