Why I don’t use Clinic Plus, Sunsilk anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I do have special place for these shampoos in my heart because I have known them from my childhood. Back then we did not have conditioner. Shampoos were all we had. I’m so familiar to blue color of clinic plus and it was my usual. I used to use sunsilk occasionally and for special days. Then came Garnier and I don’t think the formula was any better but the advertisements and packaging were fancier. I used to use the long and strong version. But one thing was common was all these shampoos. My scalp felt itchy and my hair felt dry. I never liked my hair much when I used these shampoos. Later conditioners came to existence and somewhat my hair felt softer but my scalp felt so itchy Also back then the shampoo brands were marketing the shampoos to be used everyday. Not everyone needs to do that every single day but I did not know better. I trusted the ads and my scalp and hair suffered more. Now I know what products work for me and when to use them. I love my hair now. I look back to the formulations of those shampoos and I think if they added more nourishing ingredients to balance the surfactants then things could have been really better. SLS(surfactant) is not a villain but it needs to be formulated right. I think back then the selling point of a shampoo was how much foam it can create or it should make hair squeaky clean. The top ingredients of Clinic Plus are surfactants and silicone. But if they could add more emollients then it could make hair softer while cleansing the hair. Personally Clinic Plus Makes my hair extremely dry. Same thing goes for Sunslik if you check the ingredients list. Also both these shampoos share same parent company which is Unilever . Though I won’t use these shampoos again for my hair but the nostalgia factor is real with these brands❤️ Do you know my father uses clinic plus to wash his car ? 😅 I don’t know if it’s good😅😅
