I saw this video of an artist performing at a burial then handing over the grave cross to Governor Natembeya and I really felt irritated! Why was he even performing at a funeral in the first place? Then listen to the calibre of the song. Was he intended to entertain the mourners or the one we r burying? 🤔 Then, as he was caught up in the spur of the moment, the dude just gave that cross to the Governor! This, in an African Setting, is bad omen!!! I might not be very well conversant with our culture, but vaguely, this is something I wouldn't allow when am burying my loved one. A merry-maker has been sentenced to two months in prison over a KSh32,760 bar and restaurant bill, or alternatively, pay a fine of KSh30,000. The incident happened on October 3, 2025 at Vibanda Village in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The prosecution told the court that Qurine Omondi Muteshi walked into the restaurant together with his friends, ordered drinks and food but tried to escape when he was asked to settle the bill. "The accused was noticed pretending to talk on a phone as he walked out towards the road after being presented with the bill. He was almost boarding a matatu before he was apprehended and said he had no money to pay the bill," the prosecution told the court. To defend himself, Qurine claimed while getting into the restaurant, he had money to spoil his friends and suddenly unknown girls sorrounded him, ordering food and drinks, before abandoning him. “The court can forgive me even if it is with punishment, as I work to pay for the bill. Some of us suffer because we are still new in Nairobi. This is my fourth year in the city, but I am not yet conversant with all its corners,” he told the court. After considering his plea, the magistrate has sentenced him to two months in prison or pay a fine of Ksh.30,000.
