POV: You take your final bow in your senior year show 🎭 Walking offstage after that curtain call hit differently. Not because it was the end of a show, but because it marked the beginning of realizing how close the end of this chapter really is. One semester left. One more round of what will somehow become memories before you’re ready. Theatre school has been a lot of figuring it out as I go. Long days, late nights, moments of feeling really confident and moments of questioning everything. Learning how to keep showing up even when I’m tired, even when it’s hard, even when I don’t feel “ready.” Being a BFA Musical Theatre major has shaped how I move through the world. Every creative room added something to me that I’ll carry long after I leave this campus. I’m so grateful I get to do what I love every day. To keep chasing the work, the growth, and the stories I care about. One final semester ahead and I’m stepping into it with a full heart and so much excitement for whatever comes next. Last night I took my final bows with tears pouring down my face, and all I felt was pride. 😭💖 Not sadness, just the feeling that I truly gave everything I had!! I pushed myself beyond every limit I thought I had. Physically. Emotionally. Mentally. Vocally. In every way possible. I am walking away changed… in the BEST way!!!💗🎭 Having a dream come true at 53 taught me that timing is NEVER failure and delays are never denials. Every step in my life was preparing me for this exact moment.🌟 Thank you to every single person who believed in me, showed up for me, and lifted me through this journey. We close the door on another beautiful season of dance and reflect on all the amazing memories and moments shared. It’s always hard to say goodbye to the routines that have become a part of us, and of course to the graduating dancers and their families who’ve played such a meaningful role in our community, our village. This time of year is bittersweet, filled with both celebration and reflection. Last night I took my final bow at @the5thavenuetheatre as Ariel, 4 shows shy of the end of the run.  I have never left a show early before and the experience I had last night is one I will never forget.   It felt like a cross between being completely spoiled with love on my Birthday and a my own funeral.   Everyone in the cast and crew was taking the extra time and energy to connect with me.  People made signs to shower me with messages of love when they knew I looked offstage, cooked and baked for me, wrote me cards (which I still haven’t gotten a chance to read yet because I knew I couldn’t read them before the show), waved pom poms in the cross over as I ran through for a quick change and flooded the wings and watched my final show — and cheered so loudly I could hear them. The visible tears and actual sobbing from so many of my cast members in the finale… I’ve had the honor of closing this show multiple times — and every time there are always tears shared — but this felt different.  It felt so different to be the only one leaving the group.   Lots of tears and hugs were shared and I cannot verbalize the immense honor I feel to have so many wonderful humans shower me with so much love.  I feel so incredibly grateful to each and every one of you. To my beautiful Merfamily, thank you for sending me off with a love so strong I could literally feel it radiating.
