🔥FUNCTIONAL TRAINING🔥 There was a time when this term used to mean something legit Now it’s been hijack and bastardised by soy bois and barefoot hippies afraid of coffee We need a regression back to the golden age of the 70s and 80s when functional training used to make men in to machines Now it turns them into delicate dandelions! And if you don’t know the machine at the end of this video is Werner Gunthor… the muppet at the beginning is best ignored! 😝 #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining

I believe if you want real change you must change your behaviors. So for me I’m doing less of the stuff that encouraged my body to be strong, braced and ridged and now I’m working towards moving better. Along this process I will get, more coordinated, more athletic, more smooth, more fluid, and I’ll even get stronger. The strength that I build and focus on will be way different then what I’ve worked on ever before, and ya know what, I’m super fired up about it! I will give more details on exactly what I’m doing as time goes on right here my and via @mbpowerproject. @movement.by.design is an incredible gym with wizard like instructors. 10 years ago, my hips felt uneven and my body felt out of balance. One side felt tighter, the other weaker, and no matter how much I trained — nothing really changed. I tried stretching and isolating muscles, but the imbalance kept coming back. What changed things was when I started training my body as one connected system. By working on my spiral fascia line, I focused on connecting my feet, hips, core and upper body instead of treating each part separately. Over time, my hips felt more aligned and my movement became more balanced. Train smarter → move better → feel stronger 🌱 #unevenhips #posturecorrection #functionalpatterns #movementtraining #mobilitytraining bodyalignment corestrength fascia hipalignment posturetraining

Everyone wants to look better as they age. That’s why looksmaxing has become such a big trend. What most people fail to realize is that changing the structure of your face and body doesn’t come sustainably from external stimulants, shortcuts, or surgeries alone. The foundation is myofascial and structural in nature. What we’ve found in practice is that when you correct the body as a whole, posture improves, movement becomes more efficient, breathing changes, and facial and cranial structure often improve along with it. Forward face growth and better mandibular position are reflections of how well the entire system is functioning. Not always because the face is trained directly, but because the underlying myofascial and bone structures are strengthened beneath it. When the body stops collapsing under load and starts organizing itself better, the face often reflects that change. And the benefits go far beyond appearance. Better movement quality. Improved coordination. Less unnecessary tension. Stronger breathing mechanics. A structure that not only looks better, but moves better to match. The results shown on the second half are what happens when you train the body as a system and restore function through mechanical inputs. Train intentionally, not habitually. #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #posture #jawline #fascia

Functional Patterns Don’t Want the Smoke Oh yea we got beef. @functionalpatterns has been ragging on me for almost a decade now claiming I will end up in a wheelchair… how’s that working out for ya’ll? I just keep getting better & I have less pain in my 40s than I did in my 30s. They also like to claim that my strength isn’t ’functional’… ok bro, keep doing your pirouettes with baby weights acting like it’s actually doing something. As for this video, Naudi is knocking squatting for jump height & he’s criticizing the worlds best high jumper saying that you can’t just copy what someone who gets results does & expect results ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME NAUDI? It’s all you f***ing do lol. You have no research to back up the claims about your training. All you do is rag on other people & post up testimonials of your clients. Literally what you are criticizing is the only type of marketing you do. Can’t make this shit up 🤣 As far as squats… sorry Naudi, several studies demonstrate they do improve jump height & increasing squat 1 rep max actually increases jump height & sprint times LOL (PMIDs: 22344055, 19826302, 38668555, 17545891 & 35627371) But you keep doing baby weight ballet & acting like it actually is magic. I’d love to take bets on who is going to be more ‘functional’ in 30 years between the two of us 🤣 #functionalpatterns

1,242,864

When it comes to building muscle that’s useful, the most important thing you can do is train your body to work as a system. Everyone knows what real strength looks like. It’s not always the biggest guy in the gym, it’s usually the one who can coordinate their body to move and produce force effectively. This is because your muscles aren’t meant to work in isolation, they’re meant to work together. The people who are truly strong aren’t just big, they have coordination and tension running through their entire body. That’s what allows them to create leverage, transfer force, and move real-world loads efficiently. This is why construction workers, farmers, and laborers often have what people call “farmer’s strength.” It’s not random, it’s biomechanical. They’re constantly performing total-body movements that force their system to work as one unit. Compare that to the typical gym approach, where people train muscles one at a time. Yes, you can build size that way, but that doesn’t mean your body knows how to use that muscle when it matters. So when it’s time to sprint, cut, or absorb force, things break down. For most people, the issue isn’t effort, it’s how they’re training. Their body never learns how to organize tension across the system, so they can’t generate force efficiently or handle real-world demands. Through our programs and Project Function, we help you build this level of coordination so you can develop muscle, improve your health, and actually use your body without breaking down. If you want to start building strength that applies to reality, our @10weekonlineprogram is the first step. Your spine and muscles will thank you for it. #functionalpatterns #functionaltraining #projectfunction #strength #bodybuilding

New things may look, feel and actually be dumb, who knows? But what if it’s right? What if there’s a nugget in there to learn that CHANGES your life….FOREVER! - Twisting from the ribs and also trying to twist from just the hips. Interesting and no surprise it’s challenging for me because I do not have amazing range of motion. So when I do some of these moves there’s extra tension on them. But over time I’ll get better at them. Eventually my washing machine dance will look impeccable! #functionalpatterns
