Making pinto beans at home is so easy! Plus, you’ll have 4xs

Making pinto beans at home is so easy! Plus, you’ll have 4xs the beans for a fraction of the cost. Pinto beans in the instantpot is a set it and forget it cook time. Here’s how I make my pinto beans: 💦1. Wash your pinto beans. Sometimes dry beans have little tiny rocks in them or half broken beans. The beans that are shriveled up, broken and deformed will not cook evenly with the rest of the beans so you need to pick those out. 🫘 2. Cook your pinto beans. NO need for soaking. They cook for 45 minutes and I go about my day cleaning or making the rest of the meal during this time. You can also cook them stove top but they take longer: 3-4 hrs depending on how many pinto beans went in. 🫙3. Store your pinto beans. I like to store my beans in clear, plastic containers. I freeze a couple and leave one in the fridge for immediate use. My kids love coming into the house asking if there’s beans cooking just from the smell 💕. Ps. I do not salt my beans while storing. After the pinto beans cook, I don’t salt. I stick them straight into their containers. This is an easy task in my book, I like to just get it done. I salt them when im ready to enjoy. Pinto beans recipe 1lb pinto beans= 10-12 cups water in instantpot. Hit “beans button” (should set to 40-45 min). natural release of seal knob. Add half white onion. Use immersion blender or regular blender to liquify beans. Add bean broth (water in which beans cooked) until you reach desired consistency. If your beans are too liquid, don’t worry, the more you slow cook them, the more they thicken. Store and enjoy your pinto beans with your preferred flavorings! In this video I refried the pinto beans right after they cooked. I used pieces of pork lard from the pork guisado I was making. Salted and served!

Homemade Authentic Refried Beans 🫘🥘 #fromscratch I learned how to make these Refried Beans from my Aztec Fairy Stepmother when she and my dad first started dating and will Never go back to canned Refried Beans again! All you need is a Pressure Cooker. You can make them on the stove top, but it takes longer, and you risk burning the beans, and that's a hard flavor to counter in my opinion. I love using my @yeti Pressure Cooker for this, as it has all the modes you'll need for this 1 pot dish! (I used multiple pots in this video so you could see the process better) Ingredients : 3 Cups Died Pinto Beans 6 Cups Bone Broth 4 TBSP Lard Salt to Taste Note : the Dry Beans Double in Size when Cooked Beans typically last 4 Days in the Refrigerator and you CAN definitely Freeze the Leftovers. 1.) Start by Blanching your Beans for at 2hrs or until skins start to peel. Dry beans can contain toxins called Lectins that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. 2.) Drain + Rinse any remaining Lectins from your Beans 3.) Add Beans, 2 TBSP Lard and 6 Cups Bone Broth to your Pressure Cooker. Set to "Beans & Chili" 4.) REPEAT the "Beans & Chili" cook mode, as the Beans are pretty hard and may not be soft enough yet. NOTE : IF YOU REMEMBER TO SOAK YOUR BEANS THE NIGHT BEFORE, SKIP THIS STEP. I NEVER REMEMBER 😅 5.) Strain Out Excess Liquid. This is kind of an Eyeball thing. I showed what it should look like. Not drowning in Broth but fairly wet. 6.) Mash Away! I'm using a potato masher, though you could use a Food Processor and pulse a few times until desired texture. Note : They are still Hot and steam might make food Processor lid pop and make a mess. ♨️ 7.) Add 2 TBSP Lard to your Pressure Cooker on "Sear" and keep stirring those Beans to avoid burning. You could also do this on the stove like I've done here. 8.) Once they've reached your desired thickness, pull aside. Note : if you're making Spanish Rice to go with it (I have a Recipe for that too 😉) Wait until STEP 7 to start Rice as the Beans will probably still be molten hot while the rest of the meal is cold. Enjoy 🪇 #madefromscratch #homemade #refriedbeans #mexican

BEANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD 🫘 🌍 Welcome back to Beans from around the world. This is part 6 and today were taking a trip to the United Kingdom, to make some Beans on Toast 🇬🇧 British food gets a lot of disrespect and it’s really not as bad as people claim. It’s very over hated, and we have some genuinely incredible plates of food, such as a classic Sunday roast, fish and chips and a full English breakfast. Now beans on toast are a crucial element of the beans and toast and let me show you how it’s done! (2) 1/2 tsp vegetable oil 240g drained and rinsed cannelloni beans 2 tbsp tomato puree 250ml chicken/vegetable stock 2 bay leaves 3 small sage leaves Dash of Worcester sauce Squeeze of tomato ketchup 1 tsp brown sugar 1 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp smoked paprika Salt to taste Black pepper to taste (1) Heat up a saucepan on a medium heat, then once hot, add a dash of vegetable oil. Add the tomato puree and cook for a few minute until it turns a dark red. (2) Add the cannelloni beans and mix well. Now add all the remaining ingredients (except the salt and black pepper), then bring to a light simmer and cover and cook for 20 minutes to bring all the flavours together. (3)
Remove the lid and let simmer for 10 minutes uncovered to thicken, finally season to taste with salt and pepper! #beans #beansontoast #britishfood

BEANS THAT’LL SEAL THE DEAL Listen up, these Marry Me Butterbeans are that good. Creamy, rich and comforting enough to make anyone pop the big ol’ question. You’ll be happily married and full of fiber & protein. I’d call that a win. They’re glossy, comforting and proof that beans are here to stay. We start by frying onion and garlic in a good glug of olive oil (yes we all know the memes), then in go the sun-dried tomatoes, coconut milk and butter beans for the creamiest vegan dinner ever. It’s nutritious, high-protein and ridiculously easy to make; real comfort food that happens to be healthy too. You know where to find the full recipe.

I secretly always loved the flavour of Heinz baked beans….but I HATED the sliminess of the sauce. So I was pretty chuffed when I discovered how simple it is to make a copycat that is so similar to Heinz, it is actually kinda scary! . Except - well, you know. This hasn’t been sitting around in a can for weeks/months/years. It’s amazing how much better something freshly made tastes!!! . Pile onto toast, serve on the side of dinner (I use it as a semi “sauce” for plain seared chops etc), serve up bowls of baked beans with bread for dunking (crusty artisan bread ideal!). - N x ❤️ Homemade Heinz Baked Beans . BEANS - CHOOSE ONE*: 2 cups (14 oz / 400g) dried Navy beans (aka Haricot) or other white beans 3 cans harricot/navy beans, cannellini or any white beans , drained (400g/14oz cans) BAKED BEANS: 2 cups chicken stock/broth (low sodium, veg also ok ), 1 cup water, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 6 tbsp ketchup, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp EACH garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, 1 tsp salt SAUCE THICKENING: 8 tsp cornflour / cornstarch mixed with, 1/4 cup water . 1. Dried beans – soak 8 to 24 hrs, drain, then simmer 1 – 1.5 hours until just tender inside, but still slightly firmer than you’d like (ie not super soft). Drain. 2. Mix all Baked Beans ingredients in a pot then add beans. Bring to simmer on high, then reduce heat so it’s simmering for 20 min, stirring every now and then. Pour in cornflour water mixture while stirring, cook for further 3 min until sauce thickens, stirring regularly so the bottom doesn’t catch. 3. Taste and add more salt if needed. Serve it the traditional way - piled over hot buttered toast. Or ladle into bowls, eat with a spoon and dunk in hot crusty bread! Keeps 5 days in fridge or freeze 3 months (if sauce thins, just thicken with more cornflour/water) . * Heinz is made with navy beans, but it’s totally fine to make this with any small to medium white beans. Or even coloured beans. This recipe is really about the sauce! I get dried navy beans from Scoop Wholefoods (love that place!) . #recipetineats #bakedbeans #heinzbakedbeans
