I used to not understand why anyone would want to knit socks. But then I saw an all-over colourwork sock with a sole gusset and I was sold - I had to become a sock knitter! 🧦 And since then my favourite construction is absolutely toe-up. There's so much to love about it, the ability to make them as long as you want as you go being one of them ✨ My pro tip? Make socks with a gusset and heel flap - those fit the best! P.S. Most of my patterns feature a gusset and heel flap, and it just happens that today's featured patterns are Auseklis and Rami Socks. Everything I’ve learnt and liked about sock knitting! 🧦 Mentioned 👇🏻 Knitty sock 101 - great beginner guide to how to do a heel flap and gusset construction plus a mini pattern I’d highly recommend if you’re the kind of person who needs to do rather than read or listen. Vanilla socks with Gusset and choice of heel by Jo Torr - literally everything you need to get started with toe up socks plus all the maths to create very customised patterns. Chiagoo Red lace twist needles, these come with cables for doing 9” circulars but I just bought an extra 30” cable to do two-at-a-time. Hope that helps!
