*** Stop Press*** Late Availability - Due to a late cancellation there are two available spots on next week’s printmaking workshop! - I’m going to be leading a three day workshop where together we will explore drypoint, monotype and a combination of the two. A friend once called me a “creative explorer” and it felt like a great description of my multi-potentialite self. I focused on paper collage for so long it felt scary to explore gel plate but I’m so glad I tried it. Are you an “in your head a lot” kinda person? I sure am. And although I know this half chopped head design approach is trite it feels like a great depiction of someone (like me) who at times has a hard time attaching their head to their body. I’m excited to keep exploring design with mono type printing as well as continue to deepen my relationship with paper art. I’ve been itching to add another medium to the rotation but finding pockets of time between work, life, collage and printing feels elusive. …all in time I suppose, thanks for sticking around while I noodle it all out. Dragging out an old favourite to test something - Since I've returned to posting regularly after my social media sabbatical one thing has become abundantly clear - my posts just aren't reaching the number of people they used to. - I know that this is a problem that a lot of people on here are facing with changes to algorithms, more suggested posts and changing user habits. So rather than sit here and moan I thought I'd drag out what is undoubtedly my most popular reel to see if it still has the same pull as before. - I've posted this mini-monotype three times over a three year period and it has be seen by over 2 million people, gained nearly 100,000 likes and started over 1000 conversations in the comments. I'm in no way expecting it to rack up those sorts of numbers again, but it will be interesting to see if it still has anywhere near the same draw (pun definitely intended). - Oh, and before anyone says 'concentrate on the work and don't chase the algorithm' - don't worry I am. But if I'm going to spend any time producing content on here I need to have some sort of idea of what is working and why.
