Challenge yourself to move quickly through the eccentric portion of the squat. The band tension will assist in pulling you downward quickly. By accelerating the eccentric phase, you’re forced to create a higher rate of force during deceleration. This will amplify the stretch-shortening cycle, translating stored energy into explosive upward force. 🧨 In this particular variation I’m using 90kg + 60kg band tension. I’m using a partial range of motion, replicating a similar position that I would jump from. I’m executing 3 reps total as fast as possible and targeting 0.90m/s Velocity. One of the most common mistakes I see people make is not going low enough. It’s easy to get in the habit of only squatting to parallel, but to get the most out of the exercise, you need to go deeper. Another mistake is letting your knees cave in. This can cause serious injury if left unchecked. To fix this, focus on pushing your knees out as you squat 🏋🏾‍♀️ Finally, make sure your back stays straight throughout the movement.
