Calling for Support ≠ Failure — It’s Collaboration. When a student with an IEP is struggling with behavior, it’s imperative that classroom teachers call for support. That call isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a sign of professional strength, understanding, and care. But here’s the other side: when support staff arrive, we must tread with intention. It’s just as important that we don’t stigmatize the student or treat the moment like “they’re here for me.” Every move, every glance, every tone sends a message — to the student, to their peers, and to the classroom community. That balance — between stepping in with support and maintaining the student’s dignity — is one of the hardest parts of inclusive education. But it’s also one of the most important. Because when we get it right, students feel seen, supported, and safe — not singled out. This is what real inclusion looks like: collaboration, compassion, and consistency. #InclusionMatters #InclusiveEducation #SpecialEducation #GenEdCollaboration #BehaviorSupport #TeamworkInEducation #CallForSupport #PositiveBehaviorSupport #LeastRestrictiveEnvironment #MeaningfulInclusion #TraumaInformedTeaching #BehaviorIntervention #RestorativePractices #PBIS #StudentCentered #DignityFirst #EquityInEducation #IEPGoals #InclusiveClassroom #EducationForAll #TeacherSupport #CollaborationOverIsolation #SupportNotStigma #WholeChildApproach #BehaviorIsCommunication #UniversalDesignForLearning #CoTeaching #SELInSchools #SPEDTeachers #EducationAdvocate

There are important benefits to redirecting a special child’s self-regulating behavior in a positive way. When children with special needs (such as autism, ADHD, or sensory processing difficulties) engage in self-regulating behaviors — like rocking, flapping, or repeating sounds — they’re often trying to calm themselves, manage sensory input, or express unmet needs. Instead of stopping these behaviors abruptly, gentle redirection can help them learn healthier or more purposeful ways to regulate. Here are the main benefits: 🌈Improves Emotional Control– Redirecting helps the child recognize emotions (like frustration, anxiety, or excitement) and use safer or more socially acceptable ways to express them — such as deep breathing, squeezing a stress ball, or asking for a break. 🧠Builds Self-Awareness– It teaches the child to identify what they feel and why they react a certain way. Over time, this increases emotional intelligence and self-understanding. 🤲Encourages Positive Coping Skills– Through redirection, children learn new coping strategies — like calming techniques, movement breaks, or sensory tools — that they can use independently in the future. 👀Reduces Harmful or Disruptive Behaviors– Some self-regulating behaviors may be unsafe or socially inappropriate (like head-banging or loud vocal stimming). Redirecting these into safer alternatives helps keep the child and others safe without suppressing their needs. 🗣️Supports Communication– Redirection often involves teaching communication skills — helping the child express discomfort, request help, or say “I need a break,” instead of resorting to repetitive or harmful behaviors. 🌟 Strengthens Learning and Focus– When children learn to regulate their bodies and emotions effectively, they can focus better on learning tasks, follow routines, and engage more fully in therapy or classroom activities. . . . . 📍Location: Kanpur ☎️ Contact Us: +91-6392681521 👉 Call-to-action: "DM to Enrol" . . . . #selfregulation #emotionaldevelopment #behaviorsupport #positiveredirection #calmchild #emotionalcontrol #copingskills #selfawareness #autismawareness #adhdsupport #reels #explore #explorepage

You will be AMAZED at how well this works! 📣If you’re an educator you know how LOUD lunch duty can get 🤪 so after one particularly loud duty I had had enough. I grabbed these cups from my room and put 5 at the end of each table during the next days lunch. I explained to the kids that if you are showing expected behavior and correct voice levels you will keep/earn more cups. If not I will simply take one from the top, find a table who is and add it to their pile. No discussion no talking just grab and move on. 🌟I told the kids that the table with the most cups would get to go out to recess early that day. The silence was deafening. So much so that I had to REMIND them that they could talk it just needed to be at an appropriate level 🤣. 💫Needless to say we have played this game every day during 4th grade lunch for the last week and they are obsessed. ⭐️Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest impact! ✨Try it out and let me know what you think!! #lunchduty #lunchgoals #teacherduties #teachergram #teacherproblems #teachershare #instateacher #teachersofinstagram #teachersofthegram #teachersofinsta #teachersfollowteachers #fourthgradeteacher #thirdgradeteacher #secondgradeteacher #firstgradeteacher #problemsolving #solocups #classroommanagement #behaviormanagement #positivebehaviorsupport #classroomideas #buildingrelationships

I used to say “good job” to my nephew all the time! (🤦‍♂️) 🧠 THE “GOOD JOB” ADDICTION EPIDEMIC: Well-meaning parents are accidentally raising praise addicts. External praise creates temporary dopamine hits, then kids need more validation to feel good. Internal motivation gets replaced by approval-seeking behavior. Let’s Build Better Brains: ✅ “I noticed you kept trying” vs “good job” ✅ “You found a creative solution” vs “you’re so smart” ✅ “How do you feel about that?” vs “I’m proud of you” ✅ Build internal motivation, not external dependency ✅ Support with omega-3s, alpha-GPC, and curcumin #parentinghacks #childdevelopment #parentingtips #intrinsicmotivation #mindfulparenting #braindevelopment #positiveparenting #parentinghack #singlemoms #singleparent #singlemomstruggles #singledads

Choosing to avoid unnecessary arguments and prioritizing peace is a powerful, intentional approach to emotional well-being. By letting go of the need to "win," you conserve energy and protect your mental health. Live Peacefully - Let people be themselves: Accept that not everyone will agree with you. Pick your battles: Not every conflict deserves your reaction. Use "You're Right" to end debates: If they say 1+1=5, sometimes it's best to say "you're right" and walk away. Set Boundaries: Protect your peace by setting boundaries, not just by avoiding issues. Focus on your own inner peace: When you are at peace inside, outer conflicts cannot affect you. When to Use This Strategy This approach is best used when: The conversation is going in circles. The other person is not listening to understand, but only to reply. The topic is trivial and not worth the stress. The person is acting out of ego or is committed to misunderstanding you
