Learn more about the Queer Ecologies Garden Project we helped build at the @AliceAustenHouse Museum 💚📸🏳️‍🌈 We partnered with the @AliceAustenHouse Museum through our #GardensForTheCity program and worked with garden consultant Marisa Prefer to help realize the museum’s dream of creating a queer garden space for programming and education on LGBTQ+ history and ecology 🌟   Our #GardensForTheCity program works with community partners in some of the city’s most underserved neighborhoods to build gardens and other functional green spaces 🌱 We provide the skill, time, materials, labor, and a first-year of free horticultural and agricultural consultation for these projects at no-cost to the partner 🏙🪴  Want to read more about the Queer Ecologies Garden Project? Výstava QUEER ECOLOGIES 🌼 16. 5. – 19. 6. 2024 @galeriefavu, Brno, Údolní 53 Queer Ecologies je projekt, jehož se zúčastní dvanáct umělců*kyň z prostředí Fakulty výtvarných umění i mimo něj. Společným cílem je hledání alternativ k představě, že člověk stojí na vrcholu hierarchie přírody a má tudíž právo na exploataci přírodního bohatství, ničení životního prostředí a zneužívání jiných živočišných druhů. Queer ekologie nabízí přesvědčení, že toto pojetí je patriarchální, heteronormativní konstrukt a alternativy k nim nabízejí právě komunity na okraji společnosti odsunuté mimo fyzický i myšlený mainstreamový prostor, které směřují k narušení hierarchií, pravidel trhu, nároků na půdu a přírodní zdroje a produkty či uplatňování moci nad jinými živočišnými druhy. Queer ekologie, tedy prostory podvracející a současně hojící nemocné fungování světa, jako „jiné“ environmenty, perspektivy překódování zvyku, možnosti emancipace i neomezené imaginace nabízejí nové scénáře současnosti i budoucnosti nejen pro queer lidi, ale pro všechny. Multižánrová výstava nabízí různé podoby kritiky stávajících struktur a různé cesty hledání alternativ kvířením převládajícího vztahu člověka k přírodnímu prostředí a prostoru. Autorstvo představí projekty využívající médium fotografie, tradiční malby, videa, performance, instalace a dalších.
