Since y’all enjoyed my first tallow rendering series so much, here’s another video of me processing our tallow through 3 wet renders. This batch did need a final 4th render, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to film it. #beeftallow #tallowskincare #beeftallowskincare #tallow

How to render + purify tallow using the wet method! 🐮💦 I N S T R U C T I O N S 1. Chop/grind your grass-fed beef fat into smaller pieces. The smaller the pieces, the faster they will render 2. Depending on how much tallow you have, add about 3 cups of filtered water (you can always add more) to prevent the tallow from burning. 3. Add about 1-2 tbsp of non-iodized salt to help pull the impurities from the fat 4. Cook on low until most of the beef fat melts and has settled to the bottom of the pot (could take 6 -24 hours, depending on the amount of fat) 5. Strain all the contents into a cheesecloth/fine mesh strainer. 6. Let it cool (in the fridge) until tallow hardens 7. Take your tallow out and scrape the bottom of any impurities. *Optional: you can repeat steps 2-5 to purify once more. 8. Heat the tallow once more to melt and add to your container of choice. **There may be some water that will settle at the bottom after heating. Be careful not to get it in your jars to prevent it from going bad** That’s it! Enjoy your shelf-stable tallow, or keep it in the fridge for future use!

Watch how to render oil from fat trimmings to make tallow. Tallow from the meat of grass fed animals (chicken, lamb, cow) without hormone injections is a nutritious unprocessed oil. (Still calorific!) It is a great tasty choice and has a high smoke point. Tallow is a natural source of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Comment TALLOW below and I will send you a message with the steps. You only need fat trimmings and a cast iron pot! #westonpricefoundation #naturopathicdoctor #herbalist #foodismedicine #noninflammatorydiet #naturalhealing

🐂How to Dry Render Tallow and Lard in a Crockpot🐖 I think the rendering process has been insanely over complicated recently! We dry render our suet and lard! It’s super easy and only requires you to be actively involved for about 10 minutes! Here’s a quick guide to dry rendering in a crockpot: 1. *Source Your Fat*: Get beef suet (for tallow) or pork fat (for lard) from local butchers, farmers markets, or online suppliers if that’s your only option. 2. *Prepare*: Trim and cut the fat into smallish pieces. 3. *Crockpot*: Fill your crockpot about halfway or a little more and set it to low. Stir occasionally. 4. *Render*: Once melted, strain the liquid fat through a cheesecloth 5. *Cool & Store*: Let it cool, then store in jars or molds. Perfect for skincare and cooking🌿 Note: I prefer to render my suet thawed and my lard frozen. #DIY #Tallow #Lard #Homemade #CrockpotCooking #NaturalSkincare #RenderingFat #render #tallowskincare #lardskincare #thehonestgoat #howto #howtorender #homesteadish #beefsuet #grassfed #regenerative

Side by side comparison of the first and third render - A Step-by-Step Guide The rendering process is extremely important for tallow making, especially if you’re trying to get rid of that beefy smell. Have you ever wondered how to render tallow? Today, we’re diving into the two main methods: dry rendering and wet rendering, and why we at Luv Tallow prefer the dry method for the best results! 🔍 Dry Rendering: This method involves gently melting fat in a double boiler, ensuring that the fat doesn’t burn. This process results in a cleaner, higher-quality tallow that retains more of its natural nutrients. - Benefits: - Superior Quality: No risk of burning, leading to a purer product. - Nutrient-Rich: Keeps the beneficial properties intact. - Flavor Control: Maintains a clean and delicious flavor. 💧Wet Rendering: This method boils fat with water, allowing the fat to separate as it melts. While this can be efficient for larger batches, it often results in a less refined product. - Drawbacks: - More impurities can remain in the final product. - The flavor may not be as clean or rich. At Luv Tallow, we take pride in our dry rendering process, which not only yields a high-quality tallow but also aligns with our mission to offer the best products for our customers. Our tallow is versatile—great for cooking, baking, and even skincare! Questions about rendering or how to use tallow? This is why we render our own tallow…. 1) Tallow is what makes our products unique and special. We are passionate about having our hands in every step of the process when it comes to what makes our products great. 2) Respect for the animals that make Tandler’s Tallow possible. Putting in a few extra hours to ensure that our main ingredient is treated with respect is the least we can do. 3) Trust. We have seen pre-rendered tallow in bulk…the price and convenience make it intriguing…and then we see homogenizers, anticaking agents and other chemicals in the ingredients list. Even worse, we see product labeled as pure beef tallow that is liquid and goopy at room temperature…which is NOT how tallow behaves. We are a purpose-driven brand first and foremost. We won’t ever be a huge company because of our values. That’s quite alright with us, because settling and compromising our principles is not the Tandler way. 🇺🇸 #tallow #tallowsoap #tandlerstallow #tallowskincare #veteranownedandoperated

How to Render Tallow (Wet Method) PART 1 Start by acquiring grass-fed pasture raised beef suet. You really want high-quality suet for this. Remove any large veins and tendons. Chop up the remaining clean fat into small pieces. Place the pieces in a pot or crockpot, and fill the rest with salt water. Simmer on low for about 8 hours. Remove from heat, and strain using a mesh strainer and cheese cloth. Make sure you're pouring this into a bowl with no e round edges for easy removal later. Let cool to room temp, then place into the refrigerator. Once completely cooled, the fat will be come hardened. Put a small amount of pressure on one end and pop put the solid piece. Repeat the process with heating the suet and salt water again. This ensures a nice clean product. After the second straining/filtering, let cool. Pop it out, and allow to dry completely. You can store in a bag, or heat it up just until melted, so you can pour it and save it in a jar. Make sure to watch part 2! Happy Tallow Rendering! #Tallow #homesteading #nowaste #naturalskincare #natural #howto

Tallow render process The beef tallow is the star of the show and the main ingredient for all my products. Rendering properly is my most important and qualitative step. Low heat. Triple filtered. That’s the key to dense, ultra-clean, smooth, cosmetic grade tallow. It had the most minimal scent possible because of the filtering, and is still chocked full of nutrition because it wasn’t cooked away with long and hot rendering process. Why buy a cosmetic with synthetic sources of collagen and vitamin A added? Nature gave us what we need in a natural form. Do less. Choose nature. . . . #SnakeOilTallowCo #Tallow #CleanCosmetics #RenderingTallow
