Part 1: Rendering Beef Tallow Ask for “beef suet” for more pure and nutrient dense. Beef suet is the best option, but you can use any beef fat (it just might take longer to get pure). I got this from my local butcher, he was so nice and ran it through the grinder to make it easier to work with. But most times you’ll have to cut it all up. Make sure you keep it in your fridge. For the first render only I did a “wet” render to help it be more “pure” in the end (also helps get rid of beefy smell). But we want to get all the water out so it becomes shelf stable. By the 5th or 6th render (cooking 6 times) you’ll see there won’t be any “impurities” to scrape off and it’s ready to make into skincare.
