👶🏼 Nervous to start solid foods with your baby? You are not alone! Figuring out what foods to give baby while feeling comfortable with it is a lot to handle! 🥦 My suggestion: start with well cooked vegetables! Well cooked vegetables easily break down within the mouth, are easy for baby to hold, require baby to practice chewing and moving the food in their mouth and provide baby with more sensory input than purées. Does your baby’s timeline look similar? There may be some variation to this timeline, but the main goal is to gradually increase your baby’s solid food intake as they get older, working towards solid foods being their main source of nutrition at 12 months old. Some babies may move a little faster than this and some a little slower & that’s okay 🫶🏼. It’s easy to feel pressure to offer 3 meals a day right out of the gate at 6 months but that’s not necessary.
