Eu amo essa sequência de fotos 🤣🤣🤣 Teria coragem? 🐍 Quanto mais "menina você é doida" eu recebo, mais eu amo fazer essas coisas que nos tiram da zona de conforto 🤣 O Monty (sim, ele tem nome 😅) é uma Carpet Phyton, uma das 15 espécies de píton que mora na Austrália. É a espécie mais comum - encontrada em casas e trilhas 😅 - e não é venenosa! Mas ainda pode ter uma mordida bem dolorida e causar estrago, por isso que eu fico nervosa com ela perto do meu rosto haha nunca pegue uma sem um guia ou sem saber o que está fazendo! Platypus Sighting in the Tablelands, FNQ! Meet one of Australia’s most scientifically confusing (and adorably awkward) animals: the platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus). Yes—it’s real. No—it’s not a Pokémon. Native to eastern Australia, platypuses are often found in the cool freshwater creeks and rivers of the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland—one of the best places in the country to spot them in the wild. 🧬 These monotremes (egg-laying mammals) break all the biological rules: They lay eggs, but nurse their young with milk. They lack a stomach (seriously—it’s just a simple gut). The males have venomous spurs on their hind legs. Despite looking like someone glued together a duck, a beaver, and an otter, the platypus is a finely tuned evolutionary machine. It uses electroreception (detecting electric fields) through its bill to hunt underwater, since it closes its eyes, ears, and nostrils while diving. 🕵️‍♂️ Best time to spot them? At dawn or dusk, when they’re most active. Sit quietly by a creek, and you might catch a glimpse of a ripple… then a little brown torpedo zooming past. 🌿 The Tablelands are full of magic—but nothing beats the surreal joy of seeing a platypus in the wild. Gros Morne has my heart and I’m missing it dearly 🥹🥾 This hike was SO incredible and if you’re ever in the area you have to check it out! It’s accessible, not too long, and the views are amazing! It also features some of the oldest exposed section of the Earth’s mantle which is just SO NEAT!! The Mutchilba Town Hall Mural Workshop 👏❤️ Such a wonderful turn out today for the paint by numbers mural workshop! 😊💕 It’s these types of workshops that truely bring a beautiful community together and a project that the kiddies can be proud of for years to come!
