Something BIG has arrived at Richmond’s Virginia Museum of Fine Arts! 🎨 Last week, the @vmfamuseum debuted a special look at their latest featured exhibition, Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. This exciting exhibition is an exploration of the profound and prolific contributions of Black artists to the field of contemporary art. The VMFA kicked of the unveiling with an exciting Giants Preview Party, giving guests a look at the approximately 130 objects of the Dean Collection, including iconic works of art by nearly 40 “giants” of the art world. Giants showcases the Deans’ commitment to supporting artists from 20th-century icons to younger artists who are advancing the legacies of those who came before them. Floris at The VMFA serves afternoon tea from Saturday to Wednesday. Their signature tea service has a rotating, seasonal menu inspired by The VMFA’s collections. You get to enjoy unlimited tea & you can pick from over 20 teas - like VMFA Blend, Earl Grey (my fav), Moroccan Mint & Himalayan White. Hot cocoa is available for children too! Each table gets its own 3-tiered tea stand with house-made scones, savory sandwiches & sweet treats. An adult tier costs $45 & a kid’s tier costs $35. If so, you’ll love this: The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond is one of my favorite art museums in the country, and it is home to the largest public collection of Fabergé eggs outside of Russia! ✨🥚 Fabergé created fifty-two elaborate Easter eggs for the last tsars of Russia, but after the Russian Revolution and the fall of the Romanovs, many ended up scattered across the globe.
