Without fail, these are 3 habits I consistently see in my patients that NEVER need fillings. (1) They NEVER skip brushing before bed. 💧 Our saliva production goes down when we sleep, this is when teeth are most vulnerable. Going to bed with a clean mouth is key. (2) They’re not big on snacking or grazing on food and drink throughout the day. 🧁 everytime we eat or drink (anything other than water) counts as an acid attack on the teeth, the more frequent the acid attacks, the higher chance of developing cavities. less snacking = less acid attacks. (3) They floss once a day 🦷 40% of the tooth’s surface is between the teeth, and these areas are missed by brushing alone.
